I waited and hearing grumbling from Jacob who returned annoyed to the carriage and looking at me he said, "I'm sorry!" before grabbing the door slammed it behind him and with that I knew something that soon would be confirmed. Evie looked at me and seeing her wedding ring was back on nodded being starting to cry, "No! No no, don't do that please!" she rushed over to hug me before crying said, "Damien, listen to me! You aren't from this period...a portal could appear at any moment...it isn't fair to me if one day I wake up and you are gone!" I looked down as a portal appeared and looking at it said, "I have been ignoring them for the last two weeks!" she looked down before hugging me again said, "You don't age as far as we know and I do! You are half my age, it would never have worked" I looked up at her teary eyed before saying, "I would have stayed loyal until you'd drawn your last breath" she looked down before looking at me once last time said, "I'm sorry it happened this way...I shouldn't have led you on!" I got up and looking out the window cried, "I have lost everything for you; for you... My friends, Amelia who was innocent just for you to say no!" she looked down before seeing another portal close I slumped to my knees breaking down and Jacob grabbing his jacket said, "I know you aren't the smartest person Evie but you just don't deserve to be happy, come on Damien...I'll buy you a drink!" and getting up I simply shrugged my head, "I don't feel up to it, thanks anyway!"
