Look at the book instead

“She’s just toying with me and trying to get me all flustered,” Stewart decides. “I may be the King of Mirantia, but to her, I’m just a kid brother, and all she’s doing is trying to get a rise out of me.”

If that was her goal, she succeeded, since a “rise” is exactly what she has triggered between her brother’s legs.

“I’m sure you can handle such things on your own, Adella,” replies Stewart. “If I didn’t have confidence in your abilities, I wouldn’t have brought you along; I’m sure you can manage getting dressed without me.”

She laughs as she dries herself off. Stewart, feeling slightly more steady, sets the glass of water down and picks up the book on the nightstand. The title is in the strange script in which Althesire’s letter was written: Old Gortenhäggen.

He flips through the pages, which are filled with the strange lettering, as well as many pictures. One such image is that of a proud-looking man of middle age, holding an orb, from which come beams of light. Another image is that of a woman, naked, but turned so that all Stewart sees of her body is long, flowing hair covering her shoulders and back. Her face is turned so he can see a look of sensual desire and deep, hidden meaning.

He flips idlely through the pages, seeing pictures depicting battles, coronations, and events that are unknown to him, due to his inability to read the accompanying words. He turns the page, expecting yet another historical scene, and freezes. The image that meets his eyes is straight out of one of the pornographic books that would have been burned if it had been discovered back in Central City.

The picture shows a man with a full beard, standing behind a naked woman, fucking her from the rear. Her face is contorted with evidence of bliss, but the sensual expression cannot disguise the fact that she is not entirely human; her pointed ears and thin face make her unmistakably elfin.

The fornicating couple are not alone. Around them is an assortment of beings, magical and mortal, all of whom appear to be ready to join in the sexual activity or have evidently just finished. Stewart brings his face close to the page to confirm that he is, in fact, looking at a mermaid washing her face with the voluminous seminal emissions dripping from the engorged penis of a wickedly-smiling satyr.

“A little light reading?”

Adella’s voice in his ear causes Stewart to jump in surprise. “I didn’t hear you approach,” he says, turning to face her and looking straight into her bare breasts.

Somewhere in his mind, he knows he is supposed to look away, but he finds himself unable to turn his head or avert his gaze from his sister’s breasts, mere inches from his face.

“Close your mouth before a moth flies in and takes up residence,” says Adella, lightly. “There’s no way you will convince me this is the first time you have seen the female breast!”

Noticing the lettering, her demeanor changes, and she looks at the cover of the book. “Oh, how interesting! It is a history of the Nymphite people of this region! They must have provided this for us so we can better understand their customs!”

Now totally engrossed in the book, Adella sits down next to Stewart on the bed and begins to read. Stewart tries to look at the pages as well, but finds that he is unable to keep his eyes away from Adella’s breasts, particularly the way her nipples were protruding in the chill after having just emerged from the bathwater.

“This will be very helpful,” she announces, flipping through the pages. “Why don’t you go ahead and get your bath and get dressed while I read this and see if it gives us any insight into our hosts.”

Stewart mumbles some words of assent before tearing his eyes away from what he knows is a totally taboo sight. Grateful for the distraction, however, he makes his way to the tub, with his sister unaware of how painful it is for him to take steps with his erection fighting him with every move.
