Meanwhile, Vanessa and Lauren's mother Michelle started moving them into the mansion that, for the time being, belong to Lauren. While she unpacked she began trying to ingratiate the maids and servants to her side. She did this in the form of outrageously large tips, as well as spreading mischievous lies about Lauren.

"Oh, Vanessa's poor sister and me, we're so grateful Aunt Audrey offered us a place in the house." She said to one gullible seeming young maid. "But, I worry for Vanessa's sake. You see, Lauren has quite a temper. One could say, almost abusive."

"Oh no!" The serving maid gasped, eating up every word.

"I'm afraid so." Michelle shook her head sadly. "She might try to humiliate Vanessa, or even hurt her! And I hate to say this, but she might do the same to you!"

The maid looked shocked and horrified.

"Let's just all make sure to look out for each other, okay?" Michelle said. "It's us against her, after all."

She ended this by giving the maid a 200 dollar tip, by far the largest she'd ever received. The maid looked at in shock as she wandered away. Lauren's mother laughed.

"Sucker." She snickered.

By the end of the day she had all the staff believing various terrible things about Lauren. She'd given out over a 1,000 dollars in tips, which she really couldn't afford. What did it matter though? If this went well, she and Vanessa would be millionaires!
