After that Wednesday with Chloe in the museum, you were lucky enough not to get called from her again. Well, she did give you a call to talk and remind you to come by on Saturday, but to your relief, her and Dexter seemed to be handling hers issue quite well. You were grateful that Dexter didn't know that you were the one who helped Chloe when he couldn't, as you had to imagine he'd still be pissed at any man doing this.

Come Saturday afternoon you drove down to her house, along with a bottle of scotch. You knocked on the door and waited for just a moment, Dexter was the one to open the door. You looked up at him, and felt a little bit of fear, yet Dexter just let out a smile, "John, good to see you man. C'mon in." He said putting his hand on your back leading you inside, "Chloe! John's here!" He called out,

"Hi John!" Chloe called out from the kitchen in a chipper voice,

"Hey!" You called back before looking over to Dex, "So who else will be joining us?"

"Oh I got a few friends from work dropping by." Dexter replied as he took your bag, "Oh shit, nice man this will be good for after." He said with a smirk looking at the bottle of scotch,

You chuckled and let out a little nod, "Chloe told me I should bring drinks."

Dexter returned the chuckle and walked over putting the bottle onto the table, "So man, I heard that you and your girlfriend broke up."

"Oh, yeah...Chloe told you about that?" You said with a little dejected voice,

"Yeah." Dexter replied now feeling a bit awkward, "Listen, reason I bring it up is I got this co-worker coming over, Ashley. She's really nice and she's single, I'm just saying that I think you two would be a good match. So when she shows up, talk to her, see where things go."

Just then Chloe came walking around the corner from the kitchen, "Right, so I have the burgers prepped, all you got to do is just start cooking." Chloe said to Dex with a smile,

"Thanks babe." Dexter replied before leaning down and giving her a little peck on the lips. "Think about it man." Dexter added on before walking into the kitchen,

Chloe continued to dry her hands with a towel while looking back to Dex before to you, "What's he talking about?"

"Oh, he was trying to set me up with his co-worker, Ashley." You said with a little sigh,

Chloe let out a little grin, "You totally should ask her out, she's super sweet."

"C'mon Chloe, when do set ups ever work out?" You replied a bit dismissively while letting out a short laugh,

"Well this time it might, I mean considering she's already on board." Chloe said a little slyly,

"Huh? What?" You immediately replied,

"Dex didn't come up with this out of the blue John, he came up with a little while back. He already told Ashley all about you, and she seemed interested." Chloe said with a little smirk,

"Yeah? What did he say about me?" You asked a little more interested now,

"Simple stuff, told her your personality, your job, shit like that." Chloe replied before hearing a knock at the door, "You ask me, she'd be lucky to be with you." She whispered out before walking to the door. You watched as she opened the door and a slim blonde stood in the doorway. "Hey Ashley, please come in." Chloe said simply, looking over to you with a little grin, "We're starting to cook now so I have to get back to the kitchen, why don't you and John just hang out here. "

"Oh," Ashley said looking over to you then back to her, "You sure you don't need any help?"

"No, no, trust me, we got this." Chloe said firmly while turning away, you narrowed your eyes just a bit as she gave you a little wink,

After a brief moment of silence Ashley walked over to you, "Hi John, i'm Ashley." She said with a little nervous smile,

"It's a pleasure to meet you Ashley." You replied as you reached out and took her hand, giving it a little shake.
