The Piñata

You decide to check out the piñata that seems to be quite the attraction. People in wildly varying costumes stand around cheering as a large toy pumpkin swings about above them, hanging from a leafless tree. It's set in motion by someone with a large plastic bat who tries to smack it while blindfolded. They seem to only be allowed a set number of swings before someone else takes a turn.

You work your way into the crowd, stepping over wrappers and discarded candy as you hope to get a better look, or even a turn with the bat. The costumed cacophony ebbs and flows with the timing of the swings, booing misses and cheering successful strikes on the piñata, though nobody seems to be able to break it open. Finally you reach the inner circle where you have a front-row view of the action.

Suddenly, from somewhere beside you there comes a call, and you turn to see a little shed nearby. A girl pokes her haloed head from the door and calls out again. "Anyone here wanna help fill these things?" she says. You're curious, but the game seems more exciting at the moment.

The blindfolded vampire attacking the pumpkin lands a decent smack on the plastic, but it doesn't yield. People jeer as he walks off in defeat, and a snake-woman steps up to take the bat and blindfold from him. She doesn't take a turn, however, looking to the crowd without donning the blindfold.

"Who's next?" she calls out, scanning the crowd. At the same time you notice the angel in the shed looks anxious for some help. The snake-woman seems to notice your interest, yet you hesitate.
