An increased urgency to cross the river.

From behind them, the sisters hear a male voice call out, "Look what we have here? A couple of pretty girls playing in the river!"

Eve freezes in place at the sound of the man's voice. At the same time, Anna glances back, seeing the man is still quite a ways away, but moving quickly. Clenching her teeth so they dont chatter from the cold, she pulls Eve's arm and hisses, "Run!"

Half leading, half dragging Eve across the river, Anna struggles through the slow moving water. As the water becomes more shallow, the water barely reaching their pubic mounds, Eve slips on a mossy rock, letting out a startled "eep!" as she falls. Not letting go of her arm, Eve pulls Anna down with her, both girls thrashing wildly in the water for a couple of seconds as they get their feet beneath them once more.

Behind them, closer not, the girls can hear the man laughing, closer now.

Back on their feet, Anna grabs her sisters hand again and starts pushing through the water as fast as she can move. Seconds later, the pair is once more on dry land and running from the man like panicked animals.

Glancing back over her shoulder, Anna sees that the man has reached the water on the far side of the river and is starting to wade across, seeming to have little of the trouble that her and her sister just experienced.
