Quirk

Xander had to actually stop and consider what it was his wishes were doing to him and everyone else. As much as they were beneficial there were also a bunch of weird things just happening. Not monkey's paw bad but Spock raises an eyebrow in suspicion strange.

Take for instance a new quirk about himself he had just encountered and yet at the same time, in this new reality, had been using for over a year. His Slay-dar.

The ability to know where a Slayer was in relation to himself for about a mile and change, also indentifying which Slayer was present and depending in how he pushed he could even get a feel for the Slayer's emotional state.

That was fucking crazy.

He hadn't wished for it. And couldn't even imagine how it could be infered from the wishes he had made or allowed to be made. So where did the power come from. From whoever made the Slayer Spirit? If so why not include an explanation. Not that the big muckety mucks behind the scenes were big on explaining anything, anyways.

He could admit it was a helpful little trick. This little phantom feeling in the back of his mind that let him keep tabs on the other Scoobs.

He still wanted to know where it came from and why.

The best Giles could guess was that Xander, having become a Slayer after frantically searching for Buffy on the night she faced the Master and drowned, the need to know where Buffy was had imprinted onto the Slayer spirit that was inhabiting Xander as a primary drive. And when the Slayer Spirit fractured and spawned multiple Slayers the ability expanded to include extra Slayers.

Even if Buffy thought it was creepy that he knew where she was at almost all times.

Xander was tempted to use a wish to get an explanation. But he wasnt sure if there was a good enoguh reason for Slay-dar outside of the Universe fucking with him. Because he was then universe's monkey boy.

And it was helpful.

Like right now he could feel Buffy and Faith not to far away in the computer labs. Both were kinda nervous, weirdly excited and... embarrassed? Cordelia was back the way he had come and she was proud, excited and... horny. And rounding out the Sunnydale Slayer quartet Joyce was fast approaching and she was excited, embarrassed... more regretful and... afraid?

Xander frowned, Joyce's emotions were cycling pretty fast the closer she was getting. Excitement stayed steady but being embarrassed and the feeling of regret were surging thru her. And every once in awhile a spike of fear shot thru her.

"What the hell is going on today?" Xander grumbled.

Knowing that it was better to nip a problem in the bud Xander turned away from the teenage Slayers ahead of him and started heading to met Joyce halfway. Now if he only knew why Joyce was headed for the school and not her office at the art gallery.

He assumed that Joyce was coming to the school because of some supernatural oogie boogie problem that she needed reinforcements to help handle. Which would explain most of her feelings, afraid of a foe she needed help to handle, embarrassed she needed the help, regretting whatever she did the first time that didnt work and exited because Slayers liked fighting.

That all tracked, to his mind.

Xander stopped walking after only a few steps. He had to ponder a strategic point. Was it better to meet Joyce solo or was it wiser to grab the other Slayers and meet her as a team?
