Power Absorption/Genetic Mimicry (Eventual Mind Control)

You are a mutant with the power to read, steal and absorb the genetic traits of other mutants and only other mutants. To use your power you need to make skin to skin contact with you target, read their genetic code (Which you can understand and interpret on an instinctive level) and select the traits you want to take. There is however one flaw with your power, for some reason you can not acquire psionic genetic traits from mutants with psionics centered powers.

While not a mind controlling power met the right mutant that has that power take it and make it you own, find other powers that support or enhance it.
