Persuasion: 14
ROGUE, shaking a d20 in her hand: Come on baby, momma needs a new pair of peopleskills >Dice clinking< 15! So with my negative modifier that’s a 14.
BARD: That’s not bad at all by your standards!
DM: The barmaid still regards you with a skeptical eye, but she’s inquisitive enough about what it is you want to go along with it. She beckons with a tilt of her head towards the door behind the counter, and you follow her there. On the other side you find a moderately sized dimly lit space. The air carries the faint scent of aged wood and hidden secrets. The barmaid closes the door behind you, immediately dampening the sound of the revelry in the tavern. Inside the backroom, you find a cluttered assortment of barrels, crates, and stacked supplies. The flickering candlelight of a lantern casts dancing shadows upon the worn walls, lending an air of secrecy to the surroundings. The barmaid turns to face you: ”Okay, so you said you had the answer? Is that what the secrecy’s for?”
