Chapter 3 by I.am.all I.am.all

Who's your patient?

Paul, a builder

The hunk of a man walked in, and greeted you kindly. Paul was a local builder, who was helping build all the new housing near the clinic. The man, with a large barrel chest and firm arsecheeks, had come in with a chesty cough.

"I hate to bother you doc," he apologised in his deep voice, "but I think I may have swallowed something. I took my mask off for two seconds inbetween sawing some planks and bloody Peterson knocked them down. Sawdust everywhere! I wouldn't have come in, but I've been wheezing for about an hour nonstop!"

"It's fine, Paul," you tell him, barely hiding your glee, "no need to apologise. I would advise though to wear a mask at all times you're surrounded by wood and the saw, drink water to soothe the throat. I'd like to just check your mouth and throat for irritation if you don't mind?"

"Yeah, sure," Paul says, gesturing for you to proceed, "go for it."

"We do, however, have a new tool to use in this situation…"

How do you check his throat?
