Mindy goes inside

Mindy circled the shed and didn't see any sign of instructions or Mrs. Winthrop anywhere. She steeled herself to go inside to search. Bracing herself she stepped through the door and immediately shrank down and hugged the wall as voices started talking inside.

"Hector, don't forget to bring gloves this time! We don't want to waste any time today."

"Yeah yeah, geez."

Mindy peeked around the wall and saw three men gearing up for work. They wore safety vests over their overalls and had on heavy boots. One of the men had a hedge trimmer hoisted over his shoulder while another carried bags. The third was hastily slapping on his vest. They were about to leave in the direction Mindy came in, which sent an shocking chill down the girl's spine. Her nudity suddenly rang alarms in her head and she quickly looked for a spot to hide out of instinct.

The lead man paused as he looked back and made an irritated tsk. He called out to the laggard, "Hector! Your goggles!"

Hector slapped his forehead and ran back to his locker. The other two men shook their heads as they stood to wait for him. As the men's heads were turned, Mindy took the opportunity to rush passed the room and hide behind a cabinet on the other side. She peeked from behind the furniture to watch as the workers finally moved on.

"I swear Hector... if we're late again because of you, so help me..."

"Alright already, Sonny, I'm sorry..." The bickering trailed off as the men went to their job site.

Mindy popped her head up and looked around, listening for anyone else that might be in the shed. She slowly but more assuredly walked around. The room she was in now was sort of an office space, so she scoured the work table and desk and bulletin board for any sort of instructions for her. She spotted an envelope pinned on the board with her name on it. She pulled it off and opened it up.

The instructions were a map with the shed located in one spot and the location she was expected to be circled in red. Mindy peered out the window and tried to match up the landmarks to the map when she spotted Hector returning to the shed. She back stepped and darted her head around, looking for a hiding spot.
