Lovers in moonlight

I opened the door to Kyle still waiting patiently. "You look amazing." He said after he picked his jaw up off the floor.

"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself." He was wearing a jacket over a nice dress shirt and jeans and I felt somewhat overdressed by comparison. "Though, I think I prefer what you wore in gym." I was definitely flirting with him, I can't believe it.

He smiled at me, I think he wanted to jump me right there, "Ready to go?"

The question caught me off guard since I was still debating if I was opposed to him jumping me, "Sure am." I smiled like Frankie showed me so he couldn't see my nerves, "Where to?" I took his hand and allowed him to lead me to his car like Claire showed me.

"Andy told me you were new in town so you probably haven't been to Les Amoureux."

"I have not."

"You're gonna love it." He opened my door and helped me in so gentlemanly. The entire ride I could feel him trying to catch a peek at my legs. I slowly rubbed my legs together and he nearly ran us off the road. As awesome as it made me feel for the sake of both our lives I decided not to do that again.

Over dinner I found out he loved sports, he did pretty much every one he could. "I just love anything that moves my body you know?" It would explain why he's in such good shape.

"I really love singing but I can see what you mean, I kind of like dancing."

"How do you kind of like something?"

"If I was any good at it I'd probably like it." I laughed.

"What a coincidence. My sister runs a dance studio on Heitt street."

"Really?"

"Yeah, She went to college for it and everything. She teaches everything. Ballroom, ballet, jazz, club, tap. she's a great teacher too. She taught me how to dance even."

"I would like to learn to dance better, I'll have to remember that." The rest of dinner we talked about what kind of movies we liked which I think was a ploy on his part because the next place he took me to was a drive-in. "I can't believe they still exist!"

"It's okay right?"

"It's great! I always wanted to go to one but where I used to live didn't have one in the entire state!"

"Well, lucky you came here then cause this is where everyone goes for movies." I was beginning to realize I was lucky we moved after all. "You can talk all you want and nobody will shush you, no worries about crying babies that shouldn't be out this late anyway."

"Honestly, what is with that?"

"I have no idea but when I have kids I'm not gonna do that." He winced as he pulled into our spot, even I knew you don't talk about having kids on the first date. I was curious how he'd manage it though. Well, Bobbi had two dads so maybe he'd just do that with someone. "I'll get us some popcorn, you want anything?"

"Do they have Icee?"

"They do." He pushed a button as the top slid open and folded into the back somewhere. When he left I was alone...on display. I could see some people walking by and they didn't seem to care that I was a boy in makeup and girl's clothes. Come to think of it, no one seemed to mind when I was walking around the mall dressed like a girl, or said anything when we tried on girl's clothes at the store. I liked that, maybe I didn't have to worry about it like I would have had to at my old school. "Hey, we lucked out, no line." Kyle sat back in his seat, "I got you mixed, I hope that's okay."

I took the Icee with a smile, "It's great." it really was. I shivered in the cold night air and Kyle pulled me into him warming me with himself. "Thank you," I whispered, "I'm still not used to the weather here." Frankie was right, I didn't need a jacket with him around. We snuggled close as two nuns walked down a long dark hallway. I flinched a lot during the movie but didn't really jump or scream until the evil dead nun leaped out of the tree at Frenchie. Kyle held me in place so I wouldn't jump out of my skin. Normally I'd feel embarrassed being scared even by a scary movie but I don't think I had to worry about that here, least of all with Kyle.

The popcorn emptied, the Icee drank, the movie ended and we drove off at nearly midnight. "Where are we going now?" I asked not wanting the night to end.

"I thought I would take you back to Claire's, unless you...wanted to do something else?"

"I don't think I'm ready to go back yet."

"Then I know a place." It wasn't long before we crossed a broken fence and drove up to what looked like an abandoned office. "See over there?" He pointed out into the dark where I could almost make out a faint light, "My mates are over there." He ducked under a half broken door and pulled it open with a grunt before I had to duck under too.

"Why?" I followed him inside.

He whispered now and I could see why as we passed couples making out in office rooms, "By next week the lake's gonna be way too cold to swim in. And it'll be frozen by the end of the month. Do you swim?"

"I can, my brother's more of a swimmer than me though." I was getting that uneasy feeling that I had been incredibly stupid and followed him somewhere I shouldn't. My brain was telling me to run for it but my mind was saying follow the cute boy further into the creepy horror movie scene.

"Oh yeah, that's cool." He slowly opened a door then turned back to me and smiled, "Come on." He held out his hand and again my brain and my mind were at war. "Trust me."

'I better not die.' I muttered under my breath as I took his hand and he took me into an empty office room with a half-broken office desk and couch that had seen better days before whatever sumo match had taken place on it. "What are we," I cleared my throat to hide the fear in my voice, "what are we doing here?"

Kyle looked at his watch then straight up through a hole in the ceiling. "This." He pulled me close and I looked up through the same hole and saw the full moon beaming back at us and more stars than I had ever seen before. "This is the furthest you can get from the lights of the city and still have a clear view of the night sky."

"It's beautiful." I never really looked at the stars but then I never had a view like this. I managed to stop looking at the stars and realized Kyle had been holding my hand for several minutes and looking at me, not in the wanna jump me way or even a creepy way but I think he really...liked me way, "Kyle?" I spoke softly.

"Yes?" He said just as softly taking me by my hips and swaying with me under the shining silver moon.

"I was wondering what happens next."

"What do you want to happen?" Our lips met tentatively at first before giving way to our mutual desire. He pressed my body to his as we continued to kiss.
