Look if there’s a Trait worth working towards.

You spend a lot of time looking through the AMA, reading the different Traits available for you to purchase and good lord, some of these are almost reality altering. They sound too good to be true, but the fact that Emma was so turned on by your kisses means they must work.

In the friendship category, the one that really tempts you is “No More Enemies”, but it has a cost of 150 points. You have them, but you’re not sure if you want to make the investment NOW, while you’re still unsure how everything works.

There’s one called “Great Host” that seems innocent enough, has a good price but seems hard to test.

-Great Host (20 pts): People you invite to your home feel comfortable and are very likely to have a good time.

Your mind darts to the tutoring sessions with Emily and Megan. If you can convince her to come here, your relationship with them might advance even faster.

Then there’s the romance category, where your finger twitches as you stop yourself for buying a trait immediately.

-Feel No Jealousy (100 pts): The person with this Trait feels no jealousy towards their partner’s actions, be they romantic advances towards another person or even sexual acts.

It’s expensive, but if you bought it for Emma, you could… Wait! You see something that’s even better!

-Normalized Polyamory (350 pts): Everyone accepts the fact that you have two or more romantic and/or sexual partners. Partners will not feel jealousy towards your pursuit of more relationships.

Your mind goes numb for a second, and predictable feelings of greed seep into your mind. If you had that, your eternal yet impossible fantasy of having a harem would not be just a dream! Countless nights of “what ifs”, aware that such a fantasy would never be realized, yet the possibility of it happening is 150 love points away from you.

Resolute, you decide to work towards that one Trait. You have 200 love points, which means you need 150 more. You earned 100 for completing Emma’s Love progress bar and a bonus 100 for completing all three, which means… you may have to romance at least two more women.

Shit.

If you can do that in secret and get the Normalized Polyamory Trait, there will be no problems, but how will you do that without Emma finding out? She’s devoted to you, sure, but you don’t think she’ll easily forgive you if you cheat on her, if at all.

You keep browsing through the list, looking for something that can help you make the love progress bar fill faster, knowing just how greedy that is when you already have the base Affection Multiplier.

After much search, you find a couple of traits that will let you work around that issue, both of which are in the Sexual Traits category.

-Sex is Love (100 pts): Positive sexual interactions are always taken as demonstrations of romantic affection. Sexual interactions always improve a person’s love score.

-Cuckoldry (75 pts): The person with this Trait becomes either a cuckold or a cuckquean. They enjoy and derive pleasure from watching their partner have sexual relationships with another person.

If you buy the former for yourself and the latter for Emma, it could yield very, very good results. Still, you can’t help but hesitate. These are some pretty big decisions you’re making. You’d be altering people’s perception of you heavily and even doing some changes to your own girlfriend’s personality.

Let’s be honest. Things have only improved in these past two weeks because of the Affection Multiplier. You are definitely getting greedy, yes, but you’re not about to throw away the opportunities lying before you. You have to be careful, and you don’t exactly plan on bending everyone to your will, but this is something you really want, and you’re going to work towards it.

With that final thought, you buy the following Traits:

-Great Host (20 pts) for yourself.

-Sex is Love (100 pts) for yourself as well.

-Cuckoldry (75 pts) for Emma Campbell.

This leaves you with 220 Friendship points / 200 Love points / 15 Lust points.

The latter ones took a big bit, but if all goes as planned, it will be worth it. You decide not to touch your stack of Love points unless necessary, in order to save them for the big purchase. However, you somehow still hesitate to buy the “No More Enemies” Trait. You feel like you might be able to fix your enemy issues if you just take some time, and 150 points is a lot.

Nevertheless, what’s done is done. You bought three traits with the very specific goal of building a harem for yourself. You know it won’t be easy, even with the supernatural help, but at least is will be very much achievable.

Author’s Notes: I don’t like to put author’s notes in the middle of the story, but I’ll make an exception here. I realize people will have different reactions to the cuckoldry trait. Just to be clear, in this story it will only mean Emma will enjoy and encourage David having sex with other women, not that she will be humiliated and the like. It's one of the most realistic ways I could think of to make progress without just giving our MC almighty powers from the get go.
