You feel you shouldn't waste time trying to fashion clothing out of drapery, so you slip out into the brisk night air in just your ruined costume.

Once through the window you stumble over a small patch of mulch, out into a quiet topiary garden that spans the side of the manor. Dark walls curve around to either side, hugging the veritable forest of shrubbery ahead, where an opening between two bushes fashioned into seated cats appears to be the only way through.

Carefully creeping onward, you find the garden to be so dense and confusing you could swear it was a maze. Twisting and turning down varying paths between the well-tended foliage, you soon feel as if you're lost, even the towering walls of the manor disappearing from above the high-reaching shrubs. Feral faces seem to watch you from the animal-shapes trimmed into the plants, and the occasional noise from the party sounds distant, with no discernible direction behind the echoes.

Eventually you come to a relatively wider path, leading to a small clearing where you find what appears to be an old broom lying in the soft grass. As you approach, it suddenly springs up all on its own, standing straight as you stop, startled. You stare at it in wonder until it slowly rotates in mid-air, pointing directly at you. You take a hesitant step back as it begins floating in your direction, unsure whether or not you should run.
