Leave his bedchambers

Carefully placing the envelope back in his desk, the king rises and quietly slips out of his bedchambers, careful not to disturb his wife.

Seeing no one, he proceeds undisturbed for several minutes until he arrives at a convergence of corridors. To his left is the hallway that leads to the portion of the palace occupied by his children. Despite the late hour, it would not surprise him to find activities going on in at least one of his offspring’s rooms. WIth a half smile, he remembers the freedom he enjoyed before assuming the throne. His romantic exploits were legendary, and he has heard that at least one of his children has inherited that trait.

To the right is a corridor that leads to the quarters for the residential staff and the guest quarters.

To the left is the administrative offices and the ceremonial portions of the palace

Straight ahead is the corridor that leads to an exit from the building.
