It's getting dark, find a place for the night

You saw a night approach and decided to find some place for a night. Your backpack did have a hammock and sleep-sack inside of it, which should allow you to be safe in your sleep from anything that does not fly. Hopefully this forest does not have any rocks or harpies in it, no burnt areas suggests no dragons either. Still - you felt that finding a defensible area might be a good idea.

You got your bearings using [Pathfinder] and decided to head upwards and south. Your skill promising you some good place in that direction. After several minutes of walking straight through the forest you stumbled upon a beaten path and decided to follow it in south-eastern direction. You were moving away from the city.

The path lead you through the meadow and on the edge of the forest. In the distance you could see other path and people walking on it. It seemed there were only humans though? Is this some racist country that discriminates against non-human races? That spelled trouble for you. It might be just a human village though, nothing unusual about that. Are you just being paranoid? Maybe just come down the hill and talk to one of the people on the path below?
