Chapter 4 by JimJoeBob JimJoeBob

What's does she lose?

Her fortune.

Ekibe waltzed in, sway her hips side to side, looking from one side of the casino to the other. Dice games, card games, and betting tables filled the main floor of Five Corners, there was even one of those new roulette wheels off in the back. The royal guards spread out across the main floor while the maids and Miu trailed five feet behind the princess. A hand on her hip and the other open to her side waiting for her steward to provide her with a portion of the gambling money.

Miu skirted over and placed a sack of gold in the princess' hand then moved back with the maids as she looked about for a opening at any table. There was an empty craps table not too far away that caught her eye so she continued in its direction. She immediately placed the entire sack of gold on the table, the dealer passed a multitude of dice to her to which she picked out two. The dice bounced around in her hands as she shook them before shooting them across the table for an unfavorable outcome.

The dealer took the sack and Ekibe nonchalantly snapped her fingers for more gold. A similar set of events played out the next five rounds, leading to a bitter woman with an inability to given in when she should. A wave of her hand and a load came to her with a bowl of gapes to which her highness plucked and are very angrily one at a time.

Hours passed and not a single game had been won, thousands of gold had been lost, and Ekibe's temper had surprisingly not boiled over. All of the money she brought and about half of her fortune was lost to the casino after serve real bad games of craps, bakarat, mahjong, pai gow, and roulette. The princess pouted while strutting about the place looking for a way to win, not thinking that all the games were rigged.

In a fit she bet the remaining money on a single number on the roulette wheel and if she were to win she'd get her money back tenfold. But if she lost, she would lose her fortune and would be unable to employ and staff or keep the palace. A massive crowd had been gather throughout her time in the casino, watching as the bitch who payed them no mind slowly lose all she had inherited. The person manning the giant roulette wheel gave it a big spin, sending the ball round and round. Then it slowed and the ball finally hopped on a square and the wheel came to a halt, and everyone leaned in to see the results.

And Ekibe had lost, lost it all. She was dumbfounded at this, shaking her head in disbelief at what had transpired. "Well well. It seems the princess isn't so good with her money. I have to thank you as you have made me an impossibly rich man," the casino owner called out from his office balcony.

"I...I would like to bet. Poker. I would like to win it back at poker!"

"Oh my dear I would love to let you do that, but you have no credit. You've lost it all. What is there for you to bet?"

What does she have to lose?
