Gwen to the rescue

"I don't think it's a good idea that my sister talks with our parents tomorrow." Gwen interjects. "Mom is out of her mind and i bet that she is riling up dad as we speak. Do you really want her to go trough something like that again tomorrow?" You shoot a grateful look at Gwen as she finishes. "Well you have to talk to them at some point. Look i know Agnes (your mother) and she might be overreacting somewhat but she loves you kids and i am sure that she will come to reason." Max says calming. "Of Course she is going to talk to them but i propose that you meet with our parents first. Surely a distinguished lawyer like yourself could talk on her behalf to calm down our parents before they meet. I mean haven't she been trough quite enough just today?" Gwen negotiates. "Besides she doesn't really have any clothes that fit. How about you go talk to our parents while i take her shopping tomorrow?" Gwen proposes.

"I think that sounds like a great idea, you have fun and relive some tension while we make peace with the Doe's!" Patricia chirps. "Oh alright you two girls go have fun at the mall while we talk peace with your parents." Max says with a warm smile. "But you will be coming with us tomorrow" He ads pointing at Alex. "Don't you worry dear. My Max got a silver tongue and a mind as sharp as a razor, he will make sure to make peace with our family." Gwen says encouraging.

The rest of the day passes as you spend time with your sister and the Cunningham's. Max and Patricia are great hosts and make sure to make you and Gwen to feel as welcome as possible. Everyone but Alex has a great time, stays in an almost chock-like state the entire evening. You really want to comfort him but you feel that the best way of keeping his parents of him is keeping them delighted with you. So you joke and play along with everything. In the evening Patricia prepares a bed-sofa in the living room, Gwen fearing the wrath of your parents convinces the Cunningham's to let her sleep over as well as 'sisterly support' for you.
