To the mall

You are awoken late, almost at noon by your sister. "Wake up sleepy head, we don't want to waste the whole day." she says softly as she gently shake your shoulder. Waking up you realize that your hair is a mess. Your sister eagerly fetch a brush and starts fixing you up of it. "Well your hair wont stay beautiful for long if you don't take care of it." She says. "Then maybe i should cut it off." you say jokingly. "Don't you dare, most girls would kill to have hair like yours" Gwen says.

Walking into the kitchen you are overwhelmed by the breakfast Patricia has prepared for you. Did the woman stay up cooking all morning? The worst part is that she keeps filling your plate before it's even empty. You realize after a while that you have to break common etiquette and simply run from the table in order for her to stop serving you. You take a seat next to Gwen in her car with your stomach stuffed to the brim with food.

"Are you ready for a great time?" Gwen asks with a smile. "Well someone is really exited." you say calmly as she pulls out on the street. "Well i know that this might not be what you want to hear but this is kinda a dream come true for me in a way." she says. "What?" is all you manage to respond. "I always wanted a cute little sister who looks up to me and wants to be like me. And now i got one, although not in a way that i could ever have imagined" She states.

"You think i'm going to start look up to you after today?" You ask teasingly. "Oh my sweet baby sister, after today you will praise me as your womanly mentor, ever wonder why girls always need so long to prepare, after i'm done with you you will understand exactly why." She says full of confident. "and what if i don't want to?" You ask. "Oh you want to and don't you think you don't my sweet sister. The truth is that beauty is empowering for woman, and if you don't take care of it it wastes to away, like a flower without water." She says trying to sound wise "Lucky for you you are already beautiful. I wanna help you stay that way and help bring out more of it." She continues.

You suddenly remember that you had not seen Alex that today. "Hey sis did you see Alex today?" You ask feeling a bit worried. "Oh yes we had breakfast at the same time then Max ordered him to do some garden work." Gwen responds happily. You continue to stare out the window feeling the worry for Alex gnawing at your insides. "He did not look good, completely wiped the poor boy. Serves him right if you asks me." Gwen continues. "What did i tell you about making him the villain? No he does not deserve getting that kind of treatment yesterday and today. He is taking responsibility for gods sake." You snap back, your voice mixed with worry and anger. "Alright, is was just teasing you. Alex is not as bad as i thought he would be but there is nothing to be done about things now. He will face our parents and they will probably decimate him verbally and there is nothing you could have done to stop that." Gwen says, her tone now serious. "I could have been there for him. Instead of leaving him to his fate." You murmur guiltily. "Look sis, i don't think that would have helped. Alex volunteered to face his parents alone because he wanted to spare you. He will gets trough facing ours because he feels he is protecting you. If you where there with him you would only be a target, the most important one because that's the one he needs to protect the most." Gwen continues. She pats your thigh gently. "What we are doing now is actually the best way to help Alex." She says returning to her positive state. "How is us going shopping helping Alex." you state angrily. "Alex is currently suffering for his girl sis. So when he sees you when we are done it's all going to be worth it, trust me." She says with great confidence.

Feeling defeated in your argument you sit in silence, Gwen still very happy smiles as she drives along. "Hey grumpy i got an idea that will cheer you up, wanna hear it?" She asks having clearly found something new to be excited about. You give a sigh "What?" you ask sounding annoyed. "Well, how about auntie Gwen takes the mother-to-be to the baby store huh?" She says sounding almost triumphant. "Isn't it a bit early to be shopping for that kind of stuff now?" You ask. "Besides what happened about being excited about finally having a sister, now you suddenly have to be an aunt as well?" You continue, not realizing that you sound less and less annoyed. "Firstly i only suggested we browse, secondly i can be excited for becoming a big sister today and for becoming an aunt soon enough. Besides after how strongly you have fought to keep that child i thought looking at baby stuff could get you excited." She retort. "Without giving you a chance to answer she continues "Oh my god. I know that it's early but have you given any thought on baby names yet." She asks excitingly. "Baby name." You say out loud slowly lost in thought. "I don't even now what to call myself anymore, John is not exactly a girls name is it?" You continue. "Well what do you wanna be called sis?" Gwen asks. "I honestly don't now." you say softly. "When you where a kid and dreamt of having a little sister what name did you give her?" You ask curious. "Well when mom was pregnant with you she said that if you where a girl you would be named Amy after you where born. That sorta stuck with me trough my life." Gwen says earnestly.

"Amy." You taste the name, it actually feels kinda right. Especially as it's a name that has been given to you by both your mother and sister in a way. "Yes that's it, Gwen from now on my name is Amy." You state, feeling happy and proud at that. Gwen Squeals with delight. "Oh my good i finally have my baby Amy, oh god yes, yes." She yells with excitement. You can't help but feel happy. You have finally got a name that fits you again.
