Guardians

Guardians are the children of Jiah who live in a particular biome or similar part of nature that serve as a magical manifestation of the well-being of the area. The strength and nature of the guardian is dependant on that of the region as is the reverse. A sick land leads to a weak guardian, and angry guardian leads to plants and animals lashing out at the people regardless of who is responsible for whatever is plaguing them. Each guardian is different and reflects the area in which it lives, taking on many forms based on the plants, animals, and terrain of the region. Guardians are intelligent creatures with emotion and complex thoughts, but not all have the ability to speak (at least coherently).

Jiah is also a goddess of fertility and is often offered rituals involving sex, this bleeds over into her children who are horny as hell and require stimulation more often than not. The job of caretakers is to satiate this need among other things usually more specific to their guardian. Most caretaker do not know the role they play in the case a guardian dies and needs to be reborn which is the single most important reason they exist and most chosen are female.
