Chapter 7 by bbcummings bbcummings

What's next?

Go back to Mary and Luna

“God, I can’t believe that red headed bitch ruined our fun,” Luna snarled, dumping herself on the worn couch in Mary’s living room.

Mary crosses her arms over her chest and glared at her best friend. She didn’t want to hear anymore of this.

“Will you shut the fuck up about Lily? She’s actually a nice girl.”

Luna rolled her eyes and gestured wildly to the heavens.

“Ah yes, such a nice girl. Blessed by god with many friends, big tits, and of course that fucking perfect hair. Always so perky and nice and fucking perfect. Come on Mary, you know she was judging the fuck out of us the second we left that closet.”

Mary sat down beside Luna and flipped on the television before grabbing her Xbox controller. She needed something to focus on or else she was going to explode.

“Actually, I know she wasn’t. I’ve known her longer than I’ve known you. She’s actually, genuinely nice. I think you’re just jealous,” Mary said.

“Fuck right off,” Luna said. “Fine, I’ll drop the subject. I didn’t know you guys were close friends.”

“We aren’t. You’re just being a bitch,” Mary said.

“Right back at you,” Luna muttered as she pulled the book out of her backpack.

Mary winced as the book came into view. She was growing to hate the damn thing, but kept her mouth shut. She was already pushing Luna too far today.

At that moment the door opened, bringing with it the sound of homemade bamboo wood chimes clanging together. Looking up, Mary saw her mother step into the house wearing spandex workout clothes. Her brow gleamed with sweat.

“Well that was my first and last time trying hot yoga. How are you guys doing?”

At this point, Mary’s mom practically considered Luna a second daughter and the feeling was mutual. Most days, Luna got along with Bethany Anderson far better than Mary did.

Luna sprang to her feet and eagerly presented her new toy to Mary’s mother. Mary swore Luna was just an overgrown child sometimes, **** for approval.

“Mrs. A, check this out!” Luna said, waving the book in the air.

Her mother and best friend’s voices faded to the background as Mary desperately tried to focus on the Netflix show she had pulled up on the tv.

Mary didn’t notice anything that came next.

What happens as Luna shows Mrs. Anderson the book?
