Explore the library

Duncan takes one more look at the book on the table and then pushes it aside. If he is going to spend his days here in the Library, the very least he should do is look around and see what is here.

He gets up and begins to slowly walk around the room. Most of the room is occupied by shelves of books, of course, but there are other interesting things as well. The walls contain several interesting pictures and tapestries depicting notable people and events from Mirantian history. A display case holds a battle axe, a hammer, and a chalice with ornate design. Several latched chests sit in various places around the room, one of which with a sizable padlock keeping it closed.

In a secluded corner near a window Duncan sees what appears to be a large birdcage hanging from a chain. It is covered with a small blanket.
