Exchange Program (GW, AR, AS, HH, RW)

Hello, and congratulations! You and your town have been selected to participate in the annual exchange program of THEPAST! I'm sure you have many questions, and we are very happy to give you the answers! For starters, you might be asking yourself, what is THEPAST? Well, let's start there, shall we? THEPAST is our program's name; it stands for "The Historical Exchange Program of American Small Towns."

Every year, a few schools across the entire country are selected to participate in The Historical Exchange Program of American Small Towns. This program is to help embrace the history of the smaller towns located all across the United States. The towns selected are full of a rich history that most people outside would never know, and that idea alone is unacceptable. We want the unique, rich histories of all our smaller settlements to be widely known, and the only way to do that is to spread the word. You have been selected as the pioneer for this specific purpose!

For the first week of the new year, you will be flown out of your town to one of the other selected towns in our program. You will integrate with the community, taking the spot of another student, and your main goal will be to learn everything you can about the history of this town. You will be expected to write a report about the local legends, historical monuments, and iron-clad facts, and upon your return to your town, your report will be posted in the town newspaper, letting your entire community learn just a little bit more about our countries proud and vast history all thanks to you!

So pack up! Get your pencil! Get your reading glasses! Prepare to embark on a journey into the past and make sure that these amazing stories are never forgotten; we're all counting on you!
