Enjoy a well-earned sleep

Stewart easily drifted off to sleep, and for a few glorious hours, was free of the burdens of his office. Lisa’s expert handling of his body flooded his brain with endorphins and very pleasant dreams.

He awoke as the sun poured through his window to the sound of a knock on his door. For his guard to allow someone to knock before he was out of bed must mean it is a servant with his breakfast, a family member, or an urgent matter requiring his attention.

He groaned, wishing he could go back to sleep, but the knocking persists.
