Chapter Twelve: The of Kai Russell Part One

PETER:

Peter woke up in bed with a feeling of content he hadn't felt in ages as he stared at the redhead sleeping beside him and thought about how they fucked long into the night and into the early hours of the morning before succumbing to their exhaustion and fell asleep.

Deciding to leave Adrianna to sleep, Peter made his way downstairs to the kitchen where he made breakfast and plated it up and put it on a tray before making his way back upstairs and into the bedroom where he found Adrianna now awake and sitting up in the bed.

"Morning." Peter greeted his adoptive sister.

"Good morning." Adrianna smiled at him.

"I hope you don't mind but I thought we could eat breakfast here," Peter said as he sat the tray and himself down on the bed. "Besides I think we need to talk."

"About where we go from here." Adrianna realised.

"Exactly," Peter nodded in agreement. "So, you do realise we can't be a real couple, right? You were adopted by my parents, people know you're my sister..."

"I know. I'm not living a fantasy, Peter," Adrianna sighed. "I know we can't really be together long-term and that's good."

"It is?" Peter said in confusion.

"It is because the truth is, I don't want to marry you..." Adrianna told him. "Or anyone to be honest. Marriage has never been something I wanted. The thought of it always makes me feel like someone is trying to make me lose my independence."

"I would never..." Peter told her.

"I know, it's just something I feel..." Adrianna told him. "Which works out well for you..."

"Does it? I mean, I never really thought about the future like that. Marriage or kids..." Peter admitted.

"To be honest, I don't really know where I stand with kids, to be honest. All I know is I don't want one in the next few years." Adrianna told him.

"I can get behind that," Peter chuckled. "But seriously, now that I've got you, I don't want to lose you even if you don't want to get married."

"You won't, Peter," Adrianna told him. "And that's something your future girlfriends and wife will have to live with. You and me."

"So, let me get this right. You don't want a major commitment from me... A self-proclamation of my undoing love for you and only you... You just want to be with me forever and you're okay with me dating and even marrying someone else one day just as long as she's okay with you and me." Peter recapped.

"Sounds about right." Adrianna nodded.

"This sounds too good to be true." Peter laughed.

"Maybe it is but I have the joy of knowing you. You could never be a one-woman girl, and whoever you date, will already know they have to deal with that or try and convince themselves they can tame the beast but with me by your side forever they'll know it to be true and that is something they can't run from because I will never give you up." Adrianna explained.

"Me neither but future girlfriends and wife aside, we still have to discuss what we're telling our friends and siblings." Peter reminded her.

"I'm not keeping us a secret from them. I trust my friends and yours and I know our siblings will love us all no matter what, Elsa included," Adrianna told him. "We won't hide us and if they ask we'll tell them but just them. Our close friends and family..."

"And any future girlfriends I might have," Peter interjected.

"The long-term ones at least," Adrianna joked. "And maybe a few of the short-term ones but only if they're hot and I want a threesome..."

"Speaking of threesomes and dating... You're okay with me dating other girls and... I..." Peter awkwardly spoke.

"Peter, I don't want any other guy apart from you, I might want another girl, hell I might date a few publicly and bring some to you privately but I have no sights on any other guy but you because you're the only guy who I could ever be with completely..." Adrianna admitted.

"This still sounds too good to be true." Peter chuckled.

"Then how about I show you I'm a woman of my word," Adrianna said as she leaned in to press her lips against Peter's.

After a round of sex with Adrianna both in bed and in the shower, Peter left Adrianna and Grayson Manor and got into his car and drove off, heading towards RC Coffee Lounge where he met with Ryan and Eddie who were already sitting at a table talking to each other about how Peter lived with Eddie while he was working with the Quadrant.

"...And here is the chef extraordinaire himself!" Eddie greeted Peter who sat down at the table. "I'm telling you, Ryan, this dude had a girl melting in her seat just cos he could cook some three-course meal..."

"Blame his mother, Mera. She taught him and Magnus how to cook. Said it was necessary for them to learn some life skills even if they never used it." Ryan informed Eddie.

"Well, I never stood a chance with this lothario living in the same place as me," Eddie complained.

"Is that why you had to date my sister?" Peter jested.

"Elsa wasn't your sister at the time," Eddie commented.

"But she was my cousin." Peter reminded him.

"Our family's pretty incestuous, huh?" Ryan realised, causing Peter to almost **** on the coffee he was drinking.

"What?" Peter stammered out.

"Graysons and Morgans... The relationships between the two families are so messy to explain." Ryan responded.

"Of course, right." Peter nodded.

"We're not here to talk about your family, did you find anything in Rayton Heights?" Eddie told the pair.

"Not really, no," Peter informed them. "But that means Kai is here somewhere in Redwater."

"I'll have the Quadrant look into him but it might take some time," Eddie told him. "We got our first drop off for the Harringtons happening today."

"I'm sure Nico and I can find something out. We can ask around." Ryan added.

"I'll call Demi to see if she and Alex might be able to help too," Peter suggested.

"Demi, huh?" Ryan said curiously.

"We're just friends," Peter told his brother.

"Yeah, right." Ryan scoffed. "You can't stay just friends with a girl."

"I'm with him on that." Eddie laughed.

SARA:

Sara stared down at her plate, not eating and instead twirling her fork in her fingers as she thought about Peter and the kiss they had shared, something she couldn't get out of her head, no matter how hard she tried to and it now felt as though her crush on her old friend was consuming her mind.

"Sara!" Alex snapped, causing Sara to pull away from her thoughts and looked up to see her boyfriend sitting in the seat opposite to her in the diner they were having breakfast at. "You didn't hear a word I said, did you?"

"Sorry, I was lost in thought..." Sara apologised.

"That seems to be happening to you a lot lately," Alex commented. "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, fine..." Sara lied.

"You sure? Cos you know you can tell me anything, right?" Alex reassured his girlfriend. "Even if it's about Peter..."

"Peter? Why would I be thinking about Peter?" Sara quickly stammered out.

"I saw you looking at him and Kaley on Founders Day and I know you both are close, which I'm okay with..." Alex told her. "So, if you're worried about him or something, then you can tell me..."

"I am worried about him," Sara lied. "Ever since he and Demi broke up and this Kai thing happened, I've seen less and less of him and I don't know if he's just keeping me at arm's length or anything and then seeing him with Kaley... He hasn't once come to me like that in ages..." Sara admitted causing Alex to look at her suspiciously. "To talk, like we used to. The two of us, Asa and Hollie could talk to each other about anything... Now..."

"You feel like you're losing your best friend and it's okay to feel like that, Sara," Alex told her. "Peter doesn't seem like the most open guy but if you want that part of your friendship back then you need to take it back, not wait around for Peter to come to you."

"Maybe you're right," Sara sighed. "But enough about my troubles, you were telling me something before I rudely got myself distracted. What were you telling me about?"

"It doesn't really matter, just some family plans but it wasn't important," Alex shook his head. "So, how about we discuss that biology exam we got instead?"

ELSA:

"Hey, bestie!" Elsa happily greeted Demi as she caught up to her best friend on the way to school.

"Hey, Elsa, no boyfriend with you today?" Demi wondered.

"Nah, I thought I'd give him the morning off," Elsa responded. "Besides, I should be asking you the same thing."

"In case you've forgotten, I haven't seen anyone since Peter..." Demi reminded the redhead.

"Yet, you accompanied said ex-boyfriend on a trip to Rayton Heights," Elsa interjected. "Surely, some old sparks might have reignited..." Elsa teased the blonde causing Demi to look at Elsa in surprise. "Oh my God! Really? You both... I have to know everything... Actually, no, scrap that... He's my brother now so it'll be weird, right? But I slept with him so…"

"Brother? Peter is your brother?" Demi said in confusion. “Wait… You slept with Peter?”

"Long story, his Dad, my Mom, I'll tell you later," Elsa excitedly told her. "So, are you two back together now?"

"No, it was more closure," Demi admitted. "Especially since we didn't end the right way."

"And now you have." Elsa realised.

"Which means I'm ready to move on," Demi told her.

"Good because you are way too hot to stay single or hung up on a guy for the rest of your life," Elsa told her. "Now I wonder if I know anyone to set you up with..."

JEROME:

Jerome made his way into his home, using the back door so as to not track mud all across the house, following his morning run. Taking his shoes off, Jerome made his way into the kitchen where he found Kira already eating breakfast and poured himself a cup of coffee.

"You are a fucking idiot, you know that, right?" Kira told her twin in annoyance as she glanced over to see her brother taking a sip of the warm coffee.

"What are you talking about?" Jerome said in confusion.

"Zara! Your ex-girlfriend and one of my best friends! You can't do any better than her and you threw it away because of some silly misunderstanding!" Kira shouted.

"What's with the third degree? You're my sister! My twin sister! You're supposed to be on my side!" Jerome yelled back.

"How am I supposed to be on your side when you're a fucking idiot!" Kira yelled at her twin. "Zara made you a better person. A far better person. She loved you and you screwed it up by fucking Demi..."

"Zara started it! She knew I was jealous of Adrian yet she still hung out with him and kissed him!" Jerome shouted.

"And you still didn't trust her to be honest with you!" Kira fired back. "And listen to you! You sound like a five-year-old, whining because someone took your favourite toy! If you really liked her, maybe you should have fought for her harder!"

"Did you just call me a five-year-old!" Jerome shouted.

"What? You gonna cry to your Mommy, next?" Kira shouted back.

"No, but you can tell us why the hell the two of you are screaming our house down..." The voice of the Verne twins mother, Shantel Verne interrupted as she and her husband, Jimmy Verne stood at the doorway.

Jeremiah Verne had black hair and brown eyes with a lean, well-built body and he wore an expensive suit. Shantel Verne on the other hand had long blonde hair and blue eyes with large breasts and a tight, curvy ass and long, slender legs. Shantel wore a tank top with a skirt and a pair of high heels.

"Well..." Jeremiah sternly spoke as he folded his arms and waited. "Who's going to start?"

AMELIA:

"Time to get up, Zara!" Amelia said as she opened the blinds in the blonde girl's bedroom.

"Leave me alone..." Zara mumbled as she hid under the covers.

"Come on, you can't just hide here all day, you gotta get up and get out there!" Amelia told her step-sister. "I mean, what happened to moving on from the asshole?"

"I remembered I was in love with the asshole..." Zara groaned.

"That's it!" Amelia said as she pulled the blanket off of Zara. "You are young, hot and done wallowing in self-pity. Jerome cheated on you and you can sure as hell bet he's not sitting at home crying about it, so why are you? Come on, let's go to school, show these suckers you're back on the market and see if we can't scoop you up with a rebound."

"Fine." Zara softly agreed.

"Now get up and go have a shower," Amelia commanded. "And I'll pick an outfit that will turn some heads while you do."

PETER:

Peter left Redwater High School that afternoon and took off down the streets of Redwater, stopping at Grub N’ Stuff Diner to get lunch before he returned to Grayson Manor. It was while he was waiting for his order to be prepared, Peter was greeted by Kelsey who also happened to be there too with the rest of her friends who were sitting in their usual booth eating and talking amongst themselves.

“Peter Grayson, it’s been far too long...” Kelsey commented once she had his attention.

“It really has,” Peter said as he hugged the young girl.

“How have you been?” Kelsey asked.

“You know me, same old, same old,” Peter shrugged. “You?”

“Same,” Kelsey responded. “Although I did have to pick up the pieces after your relationship with my little sister...”

“About that...” Peter awkwardly spoke.

“Don’t... Not all relationships last, I should know...” Kelsey told him.

“Hopefully, your new one does,” Peter replied. “I heard about you and Tommy...”

“Yeah, we're good and this road trip we're about to go on together really does seem like it came at the perfect time for our relationship but I gotta ask you’re not jealous are you?” Kelsey told him.

“Of Tommy? Of course not, he’s a great guy... I couldn’t be happier for either of you...” Peter admitted.

“Good cos you’ll find your girls one day too.” Kelsey told him.

“Girls?” Peter said curiously.

“You forget what I always tell you, Peter?” Kelsey said. “Monogamy is a myth when it comes to you. One day you’ll find a girl or girls who will accept that and whatever relationships you have with the women in your life.”

“Like you, you mean?” Peter guessed.

“Tommy and I have talked about it. He knows I’m not going to stop my parties and he’s given me a little leeway when it comes to guys cos of it.” Kelsey admitted.

“Then, I guess that means I should be looking forward to my next invite.” Peter smiled.

“Who knows, maybe by then you’ll have the right girl by your side,” Kelsey commented. “Or maybe you’ll find her there...”

RYAN:

“Lunch with my boyfriend, I’ve been waiting for this all day,” Amelia said as she sat down in her seat in the seating area by the window at the diner she and Ryan were at.

“Well, Nico is a good boss, he knows that if I want to spend time with you, I just have to ask,” Ryan responded. “That and I think his girlfriend makes him more lenient.”

“Nico has a girlfriend?” Amelia said in surprise.

“Yeah, some blonde girl he’s been seeing for a year or so. I haven’t really met her though.” Ryan informed Amelia.

“Right, so did Nico give you anything on Magnus or Kai?” Amelia wondered.

“Not really but I didn’t ask you out to lunch to discuss all that,” Ryan responded. “How’s your sister holding up? Last you told me, she hasn’t been doing well.”

“She hasn’t but what can we do? She had heart torn to pieces.” Amelia sighed.

“She’ll get over it,” Ryan told his girlfriend. “Everyone gets their heart broken at this age.”

“Love is never easy, huh?” Amelia responded.

“Until I met you.” Ryan smiled.

“Nice save.” Amelia giggled only to be distracted by the roar of a car engine as it drove past and before they could even react, the sound of gunshots erupted around the diner causing Ryan to grab Amelia and duck under the table as the glass shattered around the down. “Oh my God!”

“Are you alright?” Ryan worriedly asked as the car engine’s sound disappeared into the distance.

“I’m... I... I’m... fine...” Amelia breathed heavily “Who was that?”

“I have a few ideas,” Ryan said coldly.

ADRIANNA:

Adrianna surprisingly found herself sitting by herself that afternoon in RC Coffee Lounge since her friends Bailey Madsen and Kaley Simmons had now moved to Rayton Heights and her other friends were busy that afternoon, Adrianna was left to her thoughts while she drank her coffee and sketched out some outfits in her sketchbook.

“Hey AC, are you all by yourself today?” Sara’s voice called out as she approached the table.

“Yeah but it gives me some time to work on some designs,” Adrianna said while indicating to the table with her sketchbook and designs on display.

“I can see, that outfit you’re working on is pretty good,” Sara commented.

“Yeah, I was feeling inspired,” Adrianna said as she glanced at the design which showed a very skimpy cocktail dress she thought Peter would enjoy seeing her in. “So, what’s up?”

“Not much, I just wondered if you’ve seen Peter... I’ve hardly seen him lately,” Sara admitted.

“You know my brother, he’s a busy man now,” Adrianna said. “Though I could say the same for you, you seem to be pretty busy yourself.”

“What do you mean by that?” Sara said curiously.

“Alex... That boyfriend of yours seems to take up a lot of your time,” Adrianna commented. “Not that I can’t blame you. Alex is a hunk in his own way.”

“He is but I would also like to spend time with one of my best friends too.” Sara told the redhead.

“Are you sure about that? Most boyfriends don’t like it when their girlfriend has a guy friend. Wouldn’t it be good if you and Peter kept this distance?” Adrianna said letting her jealousy seep through especially since she knew about her adoptive brother’s crush on the girl.

“Alex isn’t like most guys. He knows how important Peter is to me and I want to keep our friendship and nothing will stop that,” Sara retorted. “So if you see your brother let him know that I’m looking for him.”

“I will,” Adrianna sighed. “And I’m sorry for sounding like a bitch...”

“It’s okay, I know you don’t mean it,” Sara said as she stood up to leave.

“I’ll let Peter know you were looking for him and why,” Adrianna told her. “But I don’t think it’ll be much of a difference. I think Peter wants to solve this Kai Russell before he goes back to normal.”

“Don’t we all?” Sara agreed.

HOLLIE:

Hollie and Asa found themselves walking across Oldtown Square, holding hands, enjoying the sun as well as each other’s company as they talked to each other. It was just as they decided to stop at a bench that they found themselves greeted by a familiar face belonging to Alex.

“Hey Asa, Hollie.” Alex said with a smile.

“Oh, hey Alex,” Asa said as she looked up to see the teen.

“Hi.” Hollie added.

“I’m glad I ran into you both,” Alex told them. “Can I talk to you about something?”

“Of course,” Hollie agreed. “What’s on your mind?”

“It’s about Sara and Peter...” Alex told the couple. “I know they’re friends and all... Best friends even... But I was wondering.... Were they ever a thing or close to a thing?”

“Why would you say that?” Asa said curiously, especially since she knew about Sara’s former crush on Peter.

“Cos I’m not an idiot. I can see Sara’s eyes wandering every time we’re around Peter, I can see whenever Peter’s around Sara watches his every move and the look of jealousy she has when Peter talks to a girl.” Alex said in frustration.

“Sara had a crush on Peter when we were younger.” Asa found herself admitting much to both Hollie and Alex’s surprise.

“She did?” Hollie spoke out loud.

“She did but she got over it when he went away for nearly a year,” Asa revealed.

“Clearly she didn’t get over it properly,” Alex told them. “Besides you never get over something like that especially when it’s about someone close to you.”

“Alex, I wouldn’t worry about this,” Asa told him in comfort. “Sara loves you, you know that..”

“I know and I love her too but I also know I can’t be sitting here wondering if she’s thinking about what if...” Alex sighed.

“Then you need to tell her,” Hollie advised. “Get all your feelings out on the table.’

“Maybe you’re right...” Alex slowly agreed. “Thanks for hearing me out. I’ll leave you to it besides I need to think too.”

ELSA:

“So, you’ve been obsessing over this now?” Elsa commented upon seeing the board with every information the blonde had to do with Kai plastered all over it.

“Not really. Putting it all up just helps me think.” Demi admitted.

“You are definitely a cop’s daughter.” Elsa joked.

“Anyways, Kai was born in Rayton Heights and lived with his parents until Jay and his friends showed up. Then he moved to a children’s home where he never fit in and after ageing out and leaving, he disappeared until some time in the last couple of years when he showed back up in Redwater City, joined the Quadrant under the name Kai Russell and tried to kill Jay causing Peter, Eddie and whoever else was with them to put Kai in Shawshank.” Demi summarised.

“Kai’s whole plan is ****, we know that.” Elsa commented.

“It’s not just ****, if it was he could have had that ten times over by now besides burying me in a box wasn’t ****, it was pleasure to him, exactly what that guy in Rayton Heights told us.” Demi added.

“So, he doesn’t just want to get ****, he wants to hurt them too.” Elsa realised.

“The question is who...” Demi responded.

“That’s easy. Jay, Peter and Eddie. Those are the ones he holds responsible for everything that went wrong in his life,” Elsa reminded her friend. “The real question is how will he hurt them...”

EDDIE:

Eddie stood at the table watching as members of the Quadrant walked into the building, dumping their duffel bags onto the table where the heads of the Quadrant; Martha, Irina and Mai were waiting.

“I gotta say, our new supplier's shit is dope,” Martha told Eddie. “I got my usual guys snapping it up out of the palm of my hand.”

“Luckily for you, there will be another shipment coming as soon as the Harringtons get their money,” Eddie told them while inspecting a duffel bag.

“Unfortunately that’ll never happen.” A voice called out causing everyone to see Kai stood with a knife in his hand which he used to quickly take out one of the men the Quadrant had guarding the entrance down.

Rather quickly the other members of the Quadrant went into action and attempted to take down Kai but found no luck as he cut through them all like they were made of butter. Noticing Kai taking enjoyment out of the pain, Eddie charged forward and attacked Kai only for Kai to toss him aside.

“Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, come on you got to do better than that...” Kai laughed.

“Why are you doing all this? Jay’s dead! You got your ****!” Eddie questioned as he slowly stood up.

“Because it’s not enough. I didn’t just want to kill Jay, I want to tear down his legacy. The Quadrant he built, I want to take his family away, the same way he took mine and I want the two boys he treated like his own to watch,” Kai admitted, causing Eddie to realise Kai was referring to Eddie and Peter. “And then when I’ve taken those away, when you both have lost everyone you ever cared about, then I will kill you both.”

“No, because this ends right here, right now!” Eddie yelled before charging at Kai.

PETER:

Peter rushed into Redwater City General Hospital, pushing open the doors and running past staff members as headed into accident and emergency where with some help from the receptionist, Peter found Eddie in a hospital bed **** with Elsa sat worriedly while staring at her boyfriend and being soothed by her mother.

“Elsa...” Peter’s voice broke.

“Peter!” Elsa cried as she got up from the chair and hugged her half-brother.

“How is he?” Peter asked in worry.

“He’s got broken ribs, stab wounds and cuts. They said he lost a lot of blood,” Tammy interjected. “It’s good to see you again Peter, especially after so long.”

“You too, Mrs Morgan,” Peter admitted. “I’m sorry it had to be under these circumstances.”

“Call me Tammy, after recent revelations, you could say we’re practically family,” Tammy responded. “Besides you aren’t the only one I thought I’d meet like this... When Elsa said her boyfriend lived life a little dangerously, I didn’t think...”

“Eddie’s a good man, Tammy, with a good heart,” Peter told the older woman. “I’d trust him with my life.”

“It seems like you already have,” Tammy replied, causing Elsa to cry out. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that...”

“I just want him to wake him... I want him back here... With me...” Elsa wailed. “Who could do such a thing?”

“I might have a few ideas,” Peter said as he took Elsa into his arms to hug her once more. “Don’t worry, Kai will pay for this. This ends today before anyone else gets hurt. I promise you that, Elsa.”

Peter left Redwater City General Hospital, heading back home to Grayson Manor so he could plan and find a way to hunt down Kai. Parking his car outside, Peter made his way into the manor where he was greeted by a strange but familiar smell that he couldn’t place and it was just as he entered the library, he discovered a shocking sight of Ryan lying on the floor **** with dry blood on his head and Adrianna trying to break free from Kai’s grasp as he held a knife to her throat.

“Petey! And here I thought you would be late to the party!” Kai wickedly smiled.

“Kai! Let her go!” Peter shouted.

“Or what, Peter? You’ll kill me? You won’t do that...” Kai snickered.

“Don’t tempt me.” Peter coldly responded as he took a step forward.

“Nuh, nuh, nuh,” Kai tutted. “You take another step forward and this place goes boom,” Kai said as he switched the knife for a lighter, showcasing the flame to Peter.

“He’s... coated the... place in kerosene...” Ryan groaned as he slowly stood up to join Peter’s side.

“Peter! Help!” Adrianna screamed as she freed herself only for Kai to grab her by her hair and pull her back to him.

“Move again bitch and you’ll regret it!” Kai warned before turning to Peter and Ryan. “Now I’m gonna head out. I got things to do, people to see. Hope you don’t mind if I take this piece of eye candy with me,” Kai smiled as he dragged Adrianna to the other entrance of the library and it was just as they crossed the threshold, Kai looked at Peter and Ryan to make sure they hadn’t moved despite them wanting to and Kai dropped the lighter on the floor which quickly turned into a blazing inferno as the library began to burn around them. “Oopsies... My bad... Complete butterfingers, you know...” Kai called out. “Anyways, gotta run!”

“He’s not going to get away this easily!” Peter shouted as he tried to make his way to the entrance, Kai escaped through but found his path blocked by fire and old beams as the library and now the manor found itself succumbing to the fire.

“Peter! We-we have to go...” Ryan said breathless as the head injury and the smoke started to get to the young teen.

“Aargh!” Peter roared before reluctantly taking Ryan’s arm over his shoulder and helping to carry his brother, somewhat successfully, out of their burning home.

“Thanks...” Ryan breathed heavily as he took in the fresh oxygen and he and Peter looked as they watched Grayson Manor fall apart before their burning eyes, Peter even briefly recalled seeing the same image before him in his head, a couple of days ago when he first met Andrea Beaumont but quickly put the thought out of his head when Ryan slowly asked his next question worriedly. “Mr and Mrs Fawcett... Where are they?”

“They’re fine. They had the week off. Went to Everwood Bay,” Peter informed him. “We have to go. We can’t stay here and I’m not letting any more people I love get into Kai’s clutches. We need to get everyone somewhere safe.”

SARA:

“You’re keeping busy...” Sara commented as she noticed Alex’s dual-monitors both open and with files on Kai while entering Alex’s bedroom.

“Yeah, I know but that’s not why I called you here.” Alex slowly responded.

“Why did you call me here?” Sara asked the question that had been on her mind since she got Alex’s text message.

“We need to talk,” Alex told her as he gestured for Sara to take a seat on his bed. “About us...”

“What about us?” Sara said worriedly.

“About how you’re not in love with me completely.” Alex sighed.

“What do you mean by that? Of course, I love you...” Sara defended herself.

“I know that but I also know you love Peter, that you had a crush on him, that you got over it when he went away and you will always love him because of how close you two have been but we also know that deep down, you want more and wonder what if...” Alex explained.

“Alex...” Sara tried to explain only for Alex to stop her.

“Don’t, I need to say this and it might sound a little girly or sensitive or sappy but I want someone to be in love with me completely and not wondering what could have happened with someone else,” Alex admitted.

“So, what are you saying?” Sara questioned with tears in her eyes.

“You and Peter need to work this thing out between you once and for all and we both know for that to happen we have to break-up,” Alex stated causing Sara to let out a stream of tears and Alex who had promised to be strong throughout the conversation found himself breaking down and hugging Sara in comfort.

“I don’t want to lose you... I love you...” Sara cried.

“I love you too but you know you have to do this...” Alex told her.

“Would you hate me if I did? If Peter and I...” Sara said as she pulled away from Alex and wiped her tears.

“No,” Alex calmly told her. “There’s too much history between you both and Peter’s a good guy. I could never hate either of you...”

“Really? Dudes about to take your girl and you can’t hate him for it?” A voice called out causing Sara and Alex to look up and see Kai stood in the doorway.

“Kai...” Alex said as he stood up from the bed.

“Sorry, did I ruin a private moment? Sara Rose, it’s nice to finally meet you! You are just as beautiful as Peter described...” Kai grinned while looking at Alex and twirling his knife in his fingers. “By the way, you would have thought after last time, you’d get a better lock on your door.”

“Get out of here!” Both Alex and Sara shouted at the same time.

“Not without her, I’m afraid,” Kai responded while pointing a knife at the pair.

“Not a chance in hell!” Sara spat.

“You’re gonna have to get through me, if you want her,” Alex added.

“Gladly.” Kai smiled.

ZARA:

“Remind me, what are we doing here again?” Zara asked Amelia as they entered the Crimson Nightclub together and found their friends already gathered there that evening.

“Kai came after Peter, Ryan and Eddie. Burnt down Grayson Manor, Peter wants to keep us all safe.” Demi explained.

“In a nightclub apparently,” Asa commented as she entered the building with Hollie by her side.

“It’s mine and it’s somewhere my friends can keep you protected,” Peter announced as he walked in followed by Yelena, Lucy DeSantos and her girlfriend Azumi. Lucy DeSantos had pale, white skin with long brown hair and brown eyes and a slender body with medium-sized breasts and a curvy ass which was accentuated by the jeans and crop top she was wearing. “These guys... The last of the Quadrant, well the ones loyal to us have agreed to help us. We got guys at Redwater General with Elsa and Eddie. The rest will protect the rest of you.”

“What about our families?” Jerome and Kira asked at the same time.

“The young ones are in Rayton Heights with Nathan and Claire,” Zara revealed. “Apparently they’re helping them settle.”

“I think it was just an excuse to see if they could meet celebrities,” Amelia admitted.

“Tommy, Kelsey and the older ones took a road trip to celebrate their graduation,” Peter revealed, recalling his conversation with Kelsey earlier.

“And the parents can handle themselves,” Demi responded.

“Peter!” Alex shouted as he entered the nightclub, his shirt and face a mess as he worriedly and exhaustedly made his way over to the teens.

“Alex! Where’s Sara?” Peter questioned wondering where his best friend was, especially since she hadn't arrived yet.

“Kai... Kai took her...” Alex informed him while Asa and Hollie grabbed a seat for Alex which the young man took.

“He, what? He... He’s already got Adrianna, now Sara... What the hell is he planning!” Peter said in frustration. “Get on the phone with Nico, get him here," Peter told Ryan and then looked at Alex.
