BOOK TWO: ECLIPSE

The Eclipse: it was an image that haunted my dreams, waking and resting. a Great burning hole in the Black sky, a distortion of something divine and great.

I tried to picture shadows dancing beneath it, with red eyes, sharp teeth with hunger running through their cold veins.

What did they feel? was it regret or joy at their unrelenting power? did they look like the afterimage of darting blackbirds, framed against the stars? did these Shadows walk in a world in which they were not wanted alone, or with a greater purpose? with an Anchor in their beliefs, a head of their snake? or where they truly burdened to circled around and devour their own tail, in an endless cycle, detached from the comfort of time, and ****?

Then I thought on the ecstasy of it all, the endless potential of it all, a nexus of freedom, from Bullying football captains or spoiled Diva's, from asshole dads and responsibility.

It all seemed like a blur of a Nightmare and a Dream, that being one of these dancing shadows under the onyx burning sky was something that would never come to be...

...And then, on one bloody night of grief and oddity... I became one.
