What's next?

At first? Not much. But power grows

My name is Dean Wayne. I’m eighteen, and still in high school. My life had gotten a little weird recently, actually. Since I was about fifteen, people just kind of... helped out? If I asked for something easy, they were quick to help out. At first, it was just small stuff. Never had to bend over to pick anything up again.

Then things advanced to favors. My older sister did all my chores when I asked her. Mom doted on me and bought me (reasonably priced) gifts. Dad gave me a bit of allowance each week for doing literally nothing.

So, yeah. No mind control or anything, people just like to help me. Weird, right? I had no idea what was going on.

But a week after my eighteenth birthday, there was a knock on the door. I opened it to see a beautiful, curvaceous red-haired woman, probably in her late 20s. She had beautiful green eyes, and wore a weird yellow and blue bodysuit. Her breasts were NICE. Probably Ds or DDs. She was flanked by a brown haired boy the same age as her, roughly, wearing a red visor and a yellow and blue body suit that only ended at his hairline, but it showed off his sharp jawline and muscles.

“Hi! I’m looking for Dean Wayne?” the redhead smiled.

“I’m Dean. Wanna come in and grab a drink?” I asked. The woman blinked, but the man nodded.

“Sounds good to me.” he said, and slid past us. The woman frowned slightly, but followed me in. I poured three cups of lemonade and grabbed one while each of the strangers grabbed one, too.

“So... what can I do for you?” I asked curiously.

“Well, I don’t know how much news you get here in this small town, but we’re part of the X-Men.” the woman explained.

“X-Men? Like Wolverine? You guys are mutants?” I asked, shocked.

“Yeah, and so are you.” the man pointed out. My eyes widened.

“Huh?” I asked warily.

“Well, you ARE a mutant. I’m Jean Grey, and this is Scott Summers.” the woman introduced. I noticed the shining ring on each of their hands.

“Married?” I asked. Scott nodded. Jean coughed pointedly.

“So... how’d you know I was a mutant?” I asked.

“Professor X. He has this machine called Cerebro that allows him to find mutants.” Scott blurted. Jean whirled on him, and probably mouthed something. She turned back around and smiled, which only made her more beautiful.

“Is your family here?” she asked curiously.

“No. It’s just me here for spring break.” I sighed. Jean bit her lip.

“Write a note and go grab all your clothes and anything important. You won’t be back for a while.” Jean ordered, and I decided to listen. She seemed pretty resistant to my favor powers, so I just didn’t want to get in trouble.

———

Jean and Scott led me to a clearing where there was a sleek black jet parked.

“Hey, Scott, could you carry my suitcase?” I asked without thinking.

“Sure.” he said immediately and grabbed it. Jean gave me a strange look.

“Yes?” I asked her curiously.

“What are your powers, exactly?” she asked suspiciously.

“Well, something to do with asking nicely? People are just willing to do all the little things for me. You know, grab me a sandwich while you’re at Subway. Pick up a pencil. Just little favors like that. Nothing massive.” I shrugged. Jean looked a little anxious.

“Well, I’ll give you a proper examination back at the X-Mansion after orientation.” Jean **** a smile and went up to the cockpit. I took a seat beside one of the windows, and watched as the jet smoothly lifted off.

———

When the jet landed, there were more people in jumpsuits.

“Finally!” one cried in a German accent. He was blue, and had a swishing tail, also blue.

I passed a few others, one big and silver, one with icy blue skin, and one with blue fur and hair. Jean and Scott led me inside as the greeting party rushed into the jet and took off. I was going to ask somebody grab my suitcase, but Jean gave me a glare, so I lugged my own suitcase. Right inside the grand doors was an bald man in his fifties or sixties, seated in a wheelchair.

“Hi, Professor.” Jean smiled, and the man nodded cooly to her.

“Hello, Jean. You’ll be taking our newest mutant to the testing room?” the man prompted.

“Yes.” Jean nodded. The man nodded, too, and he and Scott walked off, talking. I followed Jean to a sterile testing room beneath the mansion, and she coughed awkwardly.

“Oh, my clothes?” I asked, and she nodded, pulling her gorgeous mane of red hair up into a ponytail. I stripped down to my underwear, and Jean walked closer, making measurements on a clipboard.

“You know, you’re allowed to touch me, Dr. Jean.” I smirked, and she hesitated, then laid her hand on my fairly muscled arm and then she started full on caressing me, looking for any sort of irregularities, she told me.

“All seems normal. Time for a brain scan.” Jean smiled, and I nodded and laid back on the stretcher and it slid into the wall. Jean touched some buttons, and after a minute or two, I slid out. I sat up and Jean put one hand on my side and one on my arm and helped me a little bit, as I was lightly woozy.

“So... your brain seems to be mostly normal. Except for this. There’s some kind of device in your head inhibiting something. I think you have a lot more power than you realize, but it’s bound behind some kind of inhibitor.” Jean explained, putting her hands on my head.

“Can you remove it?” I asked her.

“Me, personally, no. But I know a girl.” Jean smiled.

Dean learns some precision with his inhibited skills, and meets some more mutants.
