Chapter 6

Arriving at the stadium

After a long bus ride in tons of traffic, the shuttles finally arrive at the stadium. This might be a college game, but it's clear from the moment you step off the bus that tons of people from all over town have turned out to support the team. It's a big day, after all, and no one wants your school's team to get shown up by their rivals. The streets are packed, so much so that it's pretty much impossible to stand still with the rush of the crowd all around you.

"Stay close together!" you yell over the noise of the masses in the streets. You friends all nod, with some of the girls holding hands to keep from getting separated. It's a pretty good idea, since all the drunks wandering about keep bumping into people and pushing them around.

The seven of you slowly make your way into the stadium. You can already tell that the crowd is calming down. It seems like you just got caught in the big rush. It's a nice bright day, not a cloud in the sky-- though it's still a bit chilly in the cool fall air. Tons of people have turned out to watch the game, and you can even see some GIT supporters in the stands. Probably graduates, you think to yourself. You have to respect it, though. Everyone at your school knows that there have been more than a few fights started at these games.

You turn in your tickets, get your bags checked by security, and you're ushered inside. The open-air stadium is packed to bursting with people, and there are hot dog vendors wandering all around. You and your friends are able to find a row of seats big enough to fit all of you and settle in for a great game.

Soon enough, though, people start getting antsy. Susanna and Kate go off on their own to get a beer with Wally. Alicia stays in the seats with Matt. Marlena disappears-- you're not sure where exactly to. Looking around the field, you realize that there're plenty of things for you to do.
