All work and no play makes Jason something something

When you get to the store, you can see the morning crew is already getting into full swing for another fun Saturday of dealing with unreasonable soccer moms shopping for the week. You quickly head into the break room before a customer can ask you a question, and check the posting on the wall to see what register you'd be on. Luckily, it's the one on the opposite side of the front end from the self-check outs and express lane; that means you'll probably not have any management watching you. Plus, since it's the slowest lane, you'll have plenty of down time to check the app without anyone noticing. Well look at that, maybe your luck is turning around!

What's more of a mixed blessing is running into Morgan as you approach the time clock.

She's wearing the same thing she wore yesterday, with the same makeup and the same hair. You wouldn't be completely surprised to find that she just didn't bother to sleep and spent the whole night playing games, like you were sorely tempted to. She certainly looks a little tired, but not exhausted. As far as you can tell, it could just be the normal amount of fatigue from having to work a few shifts close together. You slyly take a look at her chest, but it looks same as always. If they're any bigger, you certainly can't tell the difference in her work clothes.

"Hey Morgan, waiting for me?" you ask as you approach, putting on a friendly smile.

"Waiting for the clock to turn so I can punch in," she replies. Her tone certainly makes it obvious she isn't happy to be here.

"You get a good nights sleep?"

She gives you that wry side smile you always love to see. "If I did that, it'd seriously cut into my insomnia time, and you know I need my insomnia time." That gets a chuckle out of you. "Anything new on the channel, or you still working on that city building game?"

Aw beans. You remember now that you were supposed to upload a new video before your shift yesterday. And yes, seeing as you'd been doing mostly slow paced sim games, you thought you'd give a recent hack-and-slash action release a try. "Nnnno," you reply honestly. "I forgot to upload, actually. But I've got something new in the pipeline you can look forward to."

She scrunches up her face and gives you a disapproving look. "Dude, you'll never get any subscribers if you can't stick to a fucking schedule," she responds, giving you a playful backhanded slap on the arm.

You nod. "Yeah," you say with a self deprecating smile, "but seeing as I don't get any when I do stick to a schedule, is there really a point?"

She doesn't respond to that for a moment. Great, you just had to be a downer before your shift. Luckily, Morgan breaks the silence for you. "Well, even if I think sim games are boring as hell, you're a funny guy, and you've got a good voice. I think your channel is kinda cool." She's shrinks away from you slightly, almost in embarrassment, to your total surprise. "Anyway, don't be too hard on yourself, Jason."

You want to say something in response, but before you can think of anything, she swipes her name tag to clock in and starts walking to the registers. It takes you a moment to realize you should probably do the same, before someone notices you just standing around.

That... was new.

A while later, after your first wave of customers has dried up, you're beginning to work yourself mentally through what you've observed with Morgan so far. You know now, based on her appearance, that you probably didn't buy the tits one. The app suggested that they'd be pretty sizable, and you can't see any difference in Morgan's frontal region. So that left the nurturing and attention seeking ones. A few times during your customer rush, Morgan stopped by to bag with you and help out a few people who needed assistance loading up their cars. And she basically acted just like she always does. She wasn't making a scene or trying to get a rise out of anyone, and her small talk between customer and clerk wasn't really out of the ordinary for what you've seen before.

Well, there was one out of place thing. Once while she was bagging, you accidentally locked eyes with her as she was looking up from her work, and while you're certain there was something in her expression, you're not totally certain what it was. For a moment it occurred to you that you've never noticed how beautiful her large brown eyes are...

But as soon as the moment came it was gone, and both of you were back to work. You definitely know she gave you a look in the parking lot now, because it was the same look she just gave you at the register.

All of this just makes you think of what she said to you at the clock earlier. That also seemed a little out of character for her, and it seemed like she was trying to make you feel better about your channel. It's entirely possible you bought her the nurturing perk, which if true, is a bit of a relief. Of the three options, it felt like the one that was the least invasive. Hell, it'd probably make her life a lot easier, being able to soothe others. Your mood is certainly improving with this revelation, but you'd like some confirmation from the app. You quickly pull your phone out of your apron, intending to put it back before you get caught by a manager. However, you're confronted with another one of those notification screens, and it's a long one!

You tuck the phone away. This is a lot to consider. If this app can be trusted, which you're inclined to do since it magically gave you a trouser anaconda, Morgan might just have a thing for you. Which is certainly pretty rad, even if it's only possible because of this app. You're starting to change your opinion on this thing. Maybe this app isn't so bad! Maybe this is your chance to finally get to know a cute girl!

But as soon as the elation began, you see another customer approaching. This is something you can deal with later. Right now, you've got to put on your best retail smile, which for the first time, might actually be genuine.
