A ray gun

Inside the brown paper parcel, you find a toy ray gun.

“Huh?” you grunt turning it over in your hands “That’s weird I don’t remember ordering this. Maybe it’s a gift?”

You search the package but you can’t find any sign of a card or even a return address. Whoever is sending you retro-futuristic novelties they clearly want to remain anonymous. Still, the thing is pretty cool, all brushed steel and brass with a satisfying heft to it that almost makes you believe it’s more than just a toy.

“Pew Pew,” you say with a chuckle “Eat your heart out, Buck Rodgers”

Just then there is a knock at the door. Raygun still in hand you open it to see….
