A lot, and there are surprises.

“What do you need Maria?” You ask, more harshly than you expected, but your body is still reacting to how you felt around your daughter. Your mind is racing again, thinking of Kira’s beautiful eyes, of her wonderful warmth and kindness.

Maria sips her coffee, letting your tone go, she knows you are stressed, “We have the initial results back, and they are abnormal John.”

You sense confusion in Maria, something she had never publicly displayed. She is brilliant, she had better grades than you in school, and you have rarely seen her not know what is behind the equals sign. But right now she looks confused.

“Maria, you are stalling, just tell me what you know,” you insist.

“John, your genomes, your genetic markers, your basic genetic makeup, it has been altered,” she said nervously. “I don’t know how, this has never happened before, at least it has never been recorded. Your sequence has changed slightly.”

You sip some coffee and listen as you keep and eye on the door to the room your daughter is in, how could this have happened?

“It is more than that, Kira’s have changed as well, in a very similar manner.” she continued, after a nervous delay. “We pulled Kira’s file and we still had your samples here to test against. The results are correct, both of you have changed at the genetic level, in your DNA.”

“And the blood we had to test was from her positive test, it isn’t a week old yet,” she continued. “Whatever this is, it just happened.”

“Any ideas on what changed it?” You ask, having never heard of this yourself. “Are there going to be side effects?”

“I don’t know John, I have no idea, yet,” she replies. Maria is as competent as they get, but she never has been a good looking woman, she has a face for radio, so to speak, and has never been a fit woman. “There is more, she doesn’t have Sperma Proclivitas any longer, at least not the known strain.”

You spit your coffee and smile widely, “That sounds a lot like good news Maria,” you reply, very happy that your daughter might be saved.

“It is something new, something we haven’t seen before Kira,” Maria says to you. “And you seem to have caught her new version, or somehow helped her body to mutate the old one. We don’t know what happened.”

You are at a loss for words, “Men almost never get this thing Maria,” you say, and thank god for that, men needing these treatments would not be taken well. Would you need dosage? “Does it mean I will need, well that I would need a donor?”

“It doesn’t seem so John, from what we can tell the new strain produces the proteins that the original stain of Sperma Proclivitas destroyed.” She said, still sounding unsure. “It has the opposite effect of the original strain, your bodies are producing the protein in a very large supply. So much it is hard to track, I am not sure it is healthy for you.”

“I have a theory that there is something different with Kira, some genetic marker we haven’t identified yet,” Maria said, you could sense she was speculating here, this was just a guess. But a guess from her was better than an educated and informed opinion from almost anyone else.

“I think that your close relation and shared genetic code caused something to happen, I think the disease in her body reacted to your sperm, and it changed her.” She sipped her coffee again. “And then I think somehow you were exposed to her bodily fluids, and like a sexually transmitted disease, the new strain of Sperma Proclivitas inside of Kira began interacting with your genetic code.”

“Fuck me,” you reply, that is a lot, but it makes sense. “Can we prove it? Or recreate it?”

“I don’t know John, but we have some ideas, and I want your input.”

This sounded positive, maybe the solution wasn’t synthesis of the proteins in semen, but an actual cure. But you frowned, you knew the tests that would be needed. You knew what you would suggest in Maria’s position.

You didn’t like the idea, and neither would Kira.

You would want to test against other people, to see if it could be spread. That is what Maria will want. For you and Kira to test it with other people, sexually.
