My branch should explain things as they become relevant, so those wanting to jump right into reading a story can skip this and pick the option ending in "(main timeline, present, trunk)". To note there aren't going to be any time travel shenanigans. The first is to be a point of reference for branches that share a lot of lore. The second just to determine if one story happens before or after another and what events have transpired already or not. The last who the author is.
This will serve as a hub chapter and explain a few basics. The "Info hub" option below will give more details for those wanting to write their own branch and be a quick reference for returning readers that forgot anything. Also a short description of the various tales/branches.
To start let's define what the "present" is. In universe it is the 15th century and non-magical technology is on par with real world renaissance era.
A few things to know about the world/universe. Many things have video game like elements. In addition to the original gods from the creation of the universe there are gods created from collective belief and beings that have risen in power to godly status. The universe is separated into tiers of power by dungeons with a portal to the next tier.
