RWBY Futa collection

The futa trait is a rare recessive gene, causing the children of those with the trait to have the potential of being born with both male and female reproductive organs. Futanari is the most popular and accepted term for referring to hermaphrodites. The term originates from Mistral, the kingdom which has the largest proportion of people with futa trait.

Chances of a futanari being from two parent carriers of the gene is 1/4. Chances are 1/2 when a carrier has children with a futanari. When a futanari has children with another futanari, the probability of the child being born a hermaphrodite is 100%.

Traditionally, futanari were instructed to identify as women and were forbidden to have relationships with women or other futanari. There are many communities in Mistral which were the exception to this rule. Mistral's culture has always been the most accepting of futanari expressing themselves as their own gender category. Erotic art and literature recovered from before the Great War in Mistral depicted futanari in relationships with each other and women.

Following the Great War, there remain many stigmas about futanari across Remnant. Mainly those who are attracted to women or other futanari get stereotyped as perverts and whores.

In addition, Faunus populations across Remnant have higher concentrations of futanari than humans. Discriminatory slurs against Faunus, such as being labelled "degenerates", are often slung at futanari by association. There are some who speculate the futa trait originated from Faunus and spread to humans via cross-breeding though there is no definitive proof of this theory. Faunus DNA is notably unstable so this theory is not implausible.

Mistral created laws for futanari to legally identify as a gender category decades before any other kingdoms of post-Great war Remnant. Vale only began creating new gender identity laws to recognize futanari 72 years after Great war.

This timing is especially fortunate for the members of Team RWBY.

Perhaps it was destiny that brought them together, as team RWBY is Beacon academy's first all futanari huntsmen team! Team RWBY have identified as futanari on their enrolment papers despite legally being allowed to identify as female. Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang have not told anyone except each other and a handful of staff that they are futanari following the Beacon initiation. They hope to change this soon...

The following collection of stories are based in the RWBY canon however none of them interconnected. For the sake of community guidelines, all huntsmen students have been aged up by three years in this alternate universe. Ruby Rose is 18 and every other huntsman student is 20 (unless stated or implied otherwise) in Ruby's first year at Beacon academy.

Additionally, the huntsmen academies function more like universities/colleges in this universe rather than high schools. The only students who wear school uniforms on site are those with a kink for it...
