Bully in Skirts

Freshman year at Lakewood university had just started for Mark, yet he was already sitting in front of the dean's office. Slouching in his seat, he prepared for the usual routine: a disrespectful yelling from the dean, a call to his father for shush money and finally off with a warning.

"Why do I even have to sit here., I bet the dean is just greedy to pocket more money." Mark sighed.

While waiting for his name to be called, his thoughts wandered to a few months back....

Lakewood university was one of the best in the country. When Mark who initially had no hope for getting into college got the admission letter with included scholarship for the Department of Arts he was beyond surprised.

The only time he had acted was in a short play which ended mid way when he pulled one of the best pranks of his life. While musing at the funny incident, Agatha, his mother who had just reached home, snatched the letter.

"Mark, you got admission into Lakewood?!"

"Yeah.. I think one of the scouts who had come last year liked my performance, I guess.."

"Ah finally. Congrats.. I was worried you wouldn't even get admission at a public university."

"..It's not like I am going to go anyway. I'll just study by working side by side with dad, you know, finally help with the family business."

"When did you start feeling filial? If your life's goal is to take over your father's company and ruin it, dont even think about it. I am sure your dad can work for a few years longer until Evan can pick it up."

"Evan? he can't even look into a person's eye when he talks.!"

"Well, no dimwit son of mine is getting even close to taking over the company. Graduate and get a college degree atleast. Then we'll talk."

While Mark knew that the company was good as his, he didn't want to make room for any possible reasons to get ousted later. Since the moment he understood the power his father and the company held, Mark made sure he was going to be the successor. His older sister Alice, who pursued fashion since a y!oung age didn't seem like a threat. And now that she had founded her own store and company albeit with a slight help from their father, she has less reason to be so. The problem was the prodigal younger brother, Evan. From a y!oung age, it became quite evident that his brother was smart. And that was putting it lightly. But once Mark started to torment him, the bright and excited younger brother became a gloomy loner. There were even a few times he had helped his underclassmen to bully his brother.

"So? what's it going to be?"

"(sigh).. okay. Ill go to that stupid college."

"oh and one more thing, don't expect any more shush money. In fact, don't expect any pocket money either. Atleast graduate on your own, then we'll talk about this again."

"But -"

"Or else help me god., you won't even enter this house.. Is that understood?!"

"But-"

"Is that understood?!"

"yes.."

While Agatha had never scolded or yelled at him so much. She was never a person he could take lightly as when she got angry it was like all hell broke loose.

*SNAP*

As the secretary snapped her fingers and called for him, his train of thought shifted to his current predicament.

"You can see the dean now."
