A Dragon's World

A Dragon's World

A Story of Dragons

Chapter 1 by merkros merkros

In the beginning, The World was Four. Great Seas of Water surrounded the blackened and broken Earth which rose up out of it. Great mountains of fire dotted the land and belched and billowed great rivers of liquid fire. These red hot rivers crossed the land and meandered back to the sea and where they met great billows of steam and sulfur exploded from their union. In the center of these lands, the greatest of these fire mountains rested. It loomed over the land and dominated the horizon for miles to come. At the peak of The Great Fire Mountain was an enormous sea of liquid fire. It spattered and bubbled up from below. Indeed, a direct conduit to The Heart of The World itself. The Fire Sea was so enormous that not even the best of eyes could see one side from the other. This was a land with no life. For no life could survive such a world. The sea was acid and the air was toxic. The ground itself was covered with a fire that spread across it in unpredictable and irregular patterns. Yet this was the land that life first laid eyes upon.

Far to the west of The Great Fire Mountain, Kelzor the Great awoke upon the shores of The Ebon Penninsula. Great ridges of spines lined his back at regular intervals barring a gap where his immense wings sprouted from. His membranous wings were black as coal along with the scales on his back. The same color as the burnt earth around him. However, the undersides of his neck, chest, and belly were covered in beautiful patterns of chromatic coloration that glowed brightly in the sunlight. Kelzor assessed the world around him and discovered neither hunger nor thirst wracked his body nor did the hot ground below his feet burn. Despite this, Kelzor still felt a need within his belly. He was not sure of what it was. Just that he would have to search this desolate world until he found it. Thus with a great heave of his wings, he pulled his weighty body up into the sky to search for a way to satiate the need within him. However, unknown to Kelzor; he was not the only one to wake.

Far to the east of The Great Fire Mountain, his sister Mirromas the Fair awoke upon The Cloud Reach. From her vantage point on one of the few mountain ranges not currently engulfed in flame; she surveyed the cracked lands below. Her silver scales caught the moonlight and glistened like stars in the sky. Feathery wings sprouted from her back and only a few back-facing nubs marked the end of her head and beginning of her neck. She discovered that thirst did not parch her throat nor hunger her belly nor did the noxious fumes scorch her eyes. Despite this, Mirromas still felt a need within her body. She was not sure of what it was. Just that she would have to search this desolate world until she found a way to satiate it. Thus she spread her beautiful wings and glided towards the desolation below.

The centuries passed as both brother and sister continued to scour the land. Neither sibling knew what they were looking for, just that there was an intense desire within them that left them restless and uneasy. They searched high and low and their desire spurred them to keep moving and not stay in one place for long. As time passed, the great rivers of fire slowly subsided and the air slowly cleared. The ground stayed scorched, but the once chaotic land slowly became less so. The Great Fire Mountain in the heart of the land cooled and became less active. The massive sea of fire that once bubbled within it slowly hardened into a blackened landscape. The once liquid bubbles created large hills which sometimes collapsed inside when the liquid fire receded and created caves that provided shelter in the otherwise empty plateau.

This was where Kelzor found himself late one afternoon. He had just concluded yet another day of search and the sun was hanging low in the sky. There was no time now to move off The Great Fire Mountain now and he was nearly in the center of it. Thus his eyes scoured the blackened rock below searching for a place to rest for the night. It does not take long for him to find one. It was not anything particularly remarkable. A large mass of rock had crumbled and left a sizable hole that would likely barely fit his mass. However, it seemed that it was the only shelter nearby. He lunged downward and landed with a rumbling thud. He entered into the opening and discovered that the cavern was actually much deeper than he had anticipated. It led down and leveled off into a large opening. There he discovered something quite wondrous.

Near the center of the opening laid a creature much like himself. She had smooth silver scales that seemed to glisten brightly even with no light source. Her feathery wings spread limply against the ground and tail was curled up against her body. The slow movement of her chest told him that she was asleep rather than dead. Kelzor was not sure exactly what he was looking at. What he was sure of was that for the first time a strange excitement clutched at his heart. A tingling that grew from his chest and spread down his back and to his loins. As he finally realized his purpose, he quickly approached her. The first indication of his presence was his claw pulling her tail out of the way. The muscles in her body tense in surprise at the feeling of another and she quickly awoke. The other looked at Kelzor in confusion and a moment of fear passed between them. Perhaps he was mistaken and she was going to try to harm him, but then her eyes drifted lower and realization crossed across her face. The moment passed as she propped her feet under herself and lifted her tail out of the way on her own accord. A thin slit marked her sex followed by another hole farther up, but now was not the time to examine her anatomy. With her consent, he lurched himself forward.

Kelzor's body moved on his own. He put his claws onto her lower back just behind her feathery wings and drove his hips towards her sex. A part of him that he hardly was aware of sunk into her warm depths, but he was aware of it now and the feeling of pleasure flowed from his loins and throughout the rest of his body from penetrating into the moist hole. A low growl escaped his lips and she squirmed under him, clearly enjoying the feeling herself. His body spurred him to drive deeper into her depths as muscles inside of her clenched and gripped along his shaft. Spurred by the pleasured sounds escaping from her, he pressed himself against her and drive his length ever deeper.

The cacophony of their copulation quickly filled the Cavern. Kelzor dug his claws deep into her sides and she clawed and squirmed against the ground beneath her. His tail eagerly slapped the ground behind them and caused deep thuds that rumbled the earth below. Her tail wrapped against his side and squeezed against him and she lowered her front lower to the ground as her front legs buckled under his desire to press more and more of himself into her as possible. An excitement unlike any he had felt before began to well and spread into him from his loins and caused his thrusts to become all the more . It did not take long for this excitement to reach its peak and an explosion of pleasure burst from his loins. With a forceful thrust, he buried his malehood deeper into her sex than ever before. Her cervix stopped his downward drive as he arched his back and released a bellowing roar of pleasure toward the ceiling. Great spasms flowed along his length and shuddered his body while her sex clenched at him more tightly than ever before and she released a near-simultaneous reciprocal roar of pleasure as he poured his essence deep into her. The ground rumbled from Their Union as he felt great jets of his essence being poured into her with each throbbing pulse of his great length.

The sun had just begun to rise when Mirromas found herself above The cooled caverns of The Great Fire Mountain. She was always more of a creature of the night, so took shelter during the day. She had just concluded a night of searching the lands restlessly for the need that grew desperately within her for each passing day. She landed gently onto the ground and entered into a crumbled cavern. It sunk deep into the mountainside before it opened up into a large clearing. This spacious area was perfect and it was not long before she sprawled out in the center of it and began her daily rest.

Her mind drifted in an endless sea of infinite possibilities where thoughts and possibilities all became a reality within her mind. Her sleep was so fit that She did not feel the faint rumble the ground gave off. No, it was not until something gripped her tail that her slumber was stirred. A welling of fear grew from the unknown feeling of being touched and she quickly opened her eyes and looked at her assailant. What she saw was something quite wondrous. A creature with massive black wings loomed over her and large horns covered his face. Fear gripped her as their eyes met. Would this creature attack her? The question filled Her mind. Then Mirromas' eyes drifted down to the great sea of gemstone scales that lay below and between his rear legs was a rigid protrusion. It was nearly as thick as her lower leg and just as long. A thin drop of white liquid dripped from the tip and splashed on the ground where it immediately bubbled and fizzled into nothing. She was not sure why, but the sight of that protrusion and the large looming creature filled her with a tingling that she never felt before. It grew from her chest and spread down her back and to her loins.

She realized her purpose and turned her back on him. She then pulled her legs under her body before shifting her tail out of his way. She was not quite sure why, but it felt like the right thing to do and his reaction proved her right. The creature's sharp claws dug into her flank as he pressed his front legs against her sides and with a great heave of his hips, the protrusion found its mark and pressed into her sex. A low growl was heard and Mirromas' whole body shuddered with pleasure at the feeling of the intrusion and her body, unused to the feeling cried for more. It clenched at his length tightly and she responded with her own excited purrs of enjoyment. Each movement of his great body drove his length deeper into her, pushed more weight against her body, and caused the ground below them to shudder from The Union.

The cacophony of their copulation quickly filled the cavern. Mirromas felt his claws dig deeper into her sides. Her own claws sunk into the stone beneath their feet. A great thud from his tail colliding with the floor marked each thrust forward of his length. Meanwhile, her own tail curled against his side and pulled him ever deeper. Her front buckled under his weight and her head was nearly touching the ground as she released growls of pleasure which slowly grew louder as her whole body shivered. The lower half of her body stayed high and pressed back to meet him. A feeling greater than the others began to well within her and had just about reached its peak when she felt it. A great throb reverberated through his entire body before he suddenly drove his full member inside of her. She felt it collide with something inside of her just as an explosion of pleasure shuddered her body. Mirromas pushed back against him as hard as she could as great roars of pleasure erupted from them both and a hot warmth flowed into her with each pulse of his shaft. The ground below them rumbled and shook from their collision.

In the wake of their mutual climax, the only audible was the heaving panting of both Kelzor and Mirromas. With both of them in the throes of their fulfillment, neither of them noticed that the ground below them was still rumbling more and more violently. They had little time to bask in their afterglow as the ground below them wrenched open and exposed a sea of hot, molten fire below. Both dragons pulled away from each other and made their escape from the cavern. First Mirromas who was much lighter than her counterpart took flight. However, when she turned to look at Kelzor; despair clutched at her heart. The much bulkier Kelzor could not get off the ground faster than the ground collapsed around him and when the ground he was fleeing on fell... so did he. His body crashed into the liquid fire below and a surprised roar escaped his lips before he was fully submerged and disappeared below the surface. The collapse continued and it became clear that the eruption of The Great Fire Mountain had renewed again. Mirromas escaped off the plateau and took shelter nearby. Her inner desires were fulfilled, but now a new emptiness filled her. One that she had never felt before: Loneliness.

Day in and day out, for many months, she stayed watch near the bubbling sea of fire. Her mind was clutching at some vague hope that he would someday reappear. Either he would climb out of the molten fire, or she would see him flying in the air. That day never came. As time passed, her belly became heavier and more full. It quickly became clear that Kelzor left a bit of himself within her and Mirromas became more laden with eggs with each passing day. When the time came, she laid them in a cave near her watch place. Her mind intent on staying until she was to leave or Kelzor reappeared.

Unfortunately, it was the former. One morning a massive quake shook the very heart of the world. Some say it was Kelzor who threw the Lord of Liquid Fire off his throne and usurped it as after the land shook, The Great Fire Mountain cooled and settled never to erupt again. Regardless, the earthquake caused a rupture within Mirromas' cave which quickly flooded with the burning liquid. When she returned, a massive river of fire flowed through her home and the same loneliness she felt when she watched Kelzor fall returned. Surely the eggs he had granted her were lost in the inferno. The pain of the loss was too great and She fled again to wander the land aimlessly.

It was not long before she discovered that her belly was filling with eggs again and she settled once again. This time in an alcove near the sea. However, with The Great Fire Mountain no longer heating the land, it began to cool. Waters fell from the sky and the sea levels rose only to drown the cave that Mirromas was staying in. She traveled south and nestled up between a hill and a crevasse that led deep into the earth. This time a landslide dragged her nest into the depths of the earth. Not even areas where green foliage began to appear were safe as the plains and meadows turned into vast and dense jungles where she would lose her way. Each place she settled was the same. She would arrive, lay her precious cargo, and the land itself would cause her to lose it all once again.

Fringing on despair, Mirromas returned to the mountains where she had first awoken. Thick white snow had covered its peaks and she took shelter in a shallow alcove where she could see and be aware of any danger that may have approached. This time, when she laid her eggs she felt different. An emptiness filled her that she hadn't felt in a long time. These eggs would be her last. Mirromas wrapped a protective tail around them and kept watch. Throughout her ordeal, she neither slept nor moved. The snow continued to pile around her and quickly buried the alcove while she maintained her watch. Day by day, week by week the watch continued. Her eyes, ears, and nose maintained constant awareness of any possible danger that might befall her and for a time it almost looked like it would be a success.

It happened far too quickly for her to react. The snow that had been piling up on the mountain for years suddenly gave way and crushed the rocky alcove under its weight. Suddenly Mirrmoas and her precious charges were caught and tumbled down in the midst of a massive avalanche as both she and her eggs went tumbling down the mountainside. The dragoness clawed fruitlessly at the rolling snowdrifts in the hope to maintain even a sense of up and down. However, the crushing snow proved too much and buried her in darkness.

When Mirromas awoke, She found Herself at the foot of the mountain. Rocks and snow pressed against her body and a feeling of deep pain throbbed through her. She clambered out of the wreckage of her home and desperately dug through the rubble, but no sign of her wayward eggs was seen. Her eyes turned upward in despair.

The Cloud Reach was as beautiful and pristine as ever. A fresh powder of snow lay several feet deep across the jutting rock where one could be said to touch the clouds and see all the world below. A lone dragoness, broken and battered crawled her way up to its pinnacle and released an anguished wail. It was a sad call full of loss and loneliness that reverberated throughout the land. The world had turned against her. It had taken her only companion and all of the children that she so desperately tried to protect and even the elements spat on her. With one final longing look toward The Great Plateau where her companion fell into the depths of the Earth many years ago, she took to the skies and flew upward towards the moon. The only remaining companion the nocturnal dragon had.

Perhaps if Mirromas had stayed, she would have learned that her progeny had survived. The elements that she thought were her enemy had imbued her eggs with their power. The children of Kelzor and Mirromas were born into the world. The Red Firedragons, oldest amongst their children learned how to tame and control fire. The Blue Seadragons learned to master the sea which once swallowed them whole. The Green Naturedragons learned to control and manipulate plants and animals that strangled them before. The Brown Earthdragons learned to dig great tunnel cities and live for years without light in the depths from which they fell. The youngest White Icedragons learned to manipulate the icy element that threw Mirromas down the mountainside. Other such dragons appeared. Wherever Mirromas laid a clutch of eggs, a different race of dragonkind was born. These races spread and intermingled across the continent and set up realms and societies of their own where they thrived and dominated. A Dragon's World.
