EMILY ROSS

The main character of My Second Chance.

Born a man she made a wish that sent her back in time and switched her gender. She is uncertain and confused about where she is and what she wants. Eager and excited at times but shy and uncertain at others. Entranced by her new feminine form but also overwhelmed by the new needs of her new body.

With short hair in a pixie cut and a pretty face she is a little tomboyish and certainly more comfortable in baggy clothes than anything tight and revealing. In spite of this she has a body that can turn heads and ignite firey passions. With surprising curves and perkiness she keeps on drawing attention and doesn't quite know how to handle it all. But she's gradually coming into her own and starting to understand and maybe even like it, both the attention and the feel of her newly feminine form.

BLAKE HYDE

In the first timeline Blake was the bully of Emily’s boy life. A quintessential jock, he was popular on campus, successful with women, and had a whole lot of fun making the lives of boy-Emily and Eddie a living hell.

In this timeline his interest in Emily is decidedly different. He’s getting as close to her as he possibly can, showing that he wants to charm her into his bed. Still a bit of a brusque asshole, he’s shown himself to be not entirely without appeal and is also clearly trying to prove that, in his own words, “I may be a dick but I’m not an asshole.” Though whether or not this is true is yet to be seen.

EDDIE YOUNG

In the first timeline Eddie was boy-Emily’s best friend. Equal parts loner, bitter, and mean all of that kind of went over the head of boy-Emily the first time around.

But this time around she’s seeing a new side of him. She’s seeing the way he treats women and experiencing it first hand. Still she’s strangely compelled to help him, to reach out to him, to try to connect with him. Perhaps because there is something unresolved there, some obligation that comes from the past she shared with him in her other life.

LUCAS POWELL

In both timelines Lucas is Emily’s landlord and an old friend of her father, coming from the same small town she grew up in. He made it out and made a success of himself and in both timelines Emily’s parents allowed her to go to college conditional on her living with Lucas.

But this time around things are different, he’s looking at her differently. And this time around she’s making more of a connection with him and discovering he is a worldly older man who is capable of stirring up feelings that sate and satisfy while awakening a hunger all at the same time. Emily knows it’s wrong to get involved with a man literally old enough to be her father, but will she be able to help herself?

RACHEL PATRICK

In the first timeline Rachel was Emily’s crush, the girl he wanted to be with more than any other. And being nice and beautiful and charming she’d known his name, had remembered little details about him, but they’d never been close and he'd never had a shot.

This time around Rachel seems determined to peel apart the petals of Emily’s wallflower nature and make her blossom. Rachel clearly wants to be her best friend, reaching out time and again and trying to draw her into something more. To maybe show Emily her full potential, or maybe just maybe get a taste of it for herself.
