I Hate The Way My Body Wants Him

"Hey there," he said from behind me, sliding in while I was staring off into the middle distance, "I was hoping I'd see you here."

My eyes fluttered shut so quickly and I inhaled slowly, willing myself not to respond the way I was automatically. Pushing back from an edge where I melted in and felt the warmth of him slipping in and sliding around me. Cupping and holding and drawing me into him from behind.

I hated it.

I hated that my body responded that way to just the sound of his voice.

I hated that the moment I closed my eyes I could remember the feel of his hands on my body and that I knew just what he'd look like when I turned and looked at him.

Standing there with a cocky grin on his face. A shit eating grin that lingered as his eyes flickered down and slowly slid up my body until his eyebrows pumped at me suggestively.

"Hey there Em," Blake addressed me, "How've you been?"

"Blake," I snarled, stepping back and putting some distance between us, "Goodbye."

I turned on my heel and walked away, not wanting to even entertain the possibility of him because god that way danger lay. No I wanted distance between me and him and I wanted him to leave me alone and I wasn't in the least bit surprised that Blake had a very different plan in mind.

"Goodbye?" he asked, chuckling as he caught up with me and fell into step beside me, "So soon? We just started talking. Don't you think that's a little rude?"

"Don't care," I insisted, turning away and watching with some satisfaction as he scrambled to follow.

"But you were so rude last night," he went on, "or don't you remember? Leaving me like that, just abandoning me without a word. Now that was rude."

"And intentional," I said primly, smiling a little cruely at him, "Did the fuss I put up draw some attention to you? Get you into trouble with Kim?"

He shrugged, "Managed to find my way out of that without much trouble. Even had a bit of fun along the way."

I stopped short, turning to look at him and see whether he was being serious. When he grinned even broader I realized he was and my jaw dropped open.

"Bullshit," I said, but then remembered the way girl-Kim had been so generously appraising of him when we'd had our little chat in the bathroom yesterday afternoon.

Blake shrugged, "Hey, it doesn't mean anything. And if it's any consolation she was hardly my first choice. I had someone else in mind."

He took a deliberate step forward and I took one back and he pursued and ketp me on my back foot. All the way stumbling back until we were disappearing into a little space between two tents and I realized that we were truly alone.

That once more Blake had managed to find his way into isolating me from everyone else.

And that this time, he probably was going to push my limits that little bit more.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

He smiled and reached up towards me and I stiffened, but didn't stop him as he curled the back of his fingers against my cheek and slowly drew them down.

"Just exploring my options," he explained, "Seeing what opportunities come up. And maybe, hopefully, finishing what we started last night."

"Blake," I said warningly, "I thought you said you were a good man. I thought you said you weren't going to push me."

He shook his head, "I said nothing of the sort. Only told you I wasn't a monster. But I made no promise at all about being good."
