You head to the inn.

Not far from the stores you find the building that is obviously the only inn this city has. The stout door pushes open hard, and as soon as it does the warmth inside spills out into the snow. With a big intake of breath you smell food, and it smells good. Looking around you find only three patrons and a scantly clad serving woman. All three patrons look over as you walk in, two seem human, warriors most likely, the third is clearly something slightly different. He has long exposed teeth a bald head with pointed ears, and you would guess he is nearly 7' tall. They eye you a bit as you walk, but seem to be deterred from doing or saying anything by either your weapons, or manner. The only one that turns to say anything is the cute little brunette in the tiny skirt and tube top. “What can I get ya?” She asks with a playful grin.

Grabbing a chair at one of the many empty tables, you smile back and say, “I would love a big mug of beer, and some food, a steak perhaps, plus oh, potatoes or corn or whatever you have.”

“Well, the beer is no problem, as for food all the cook has today is fish, some vegetables, bread, and stew.”

“Sounds good, how about a nice plate of fish, vegetables, and a big piece of bread. Plus the beer.”

“7 silver.” She says holding out her slender hand. You open the pouch and press the coins in her palm. She smiles, brushing your fingers with her other hand as she covers the coins. “Right away.” She flashes another smile, and you can't help but notice her tongue is pierced with a silver bar as she talks. She heads away and in a few minutes is back with what you would guess is a two pint mug of very dark beer. Leaning back in the chair, you take a big drink, wipe your mouth with your hand, and let out a big healthy belch. A little laugh escapes your mouth, and the serving girl's smile widens, apparently finding that funny, then she walks back into the kitchen. By the time she brings the food you have finished the beer, and for another pair of coins, you order another. The food is actually pretty amazing. It consists of three pan fried fish, a clump of large chunks of potato, and some slightly charred carrots. It is all covered with a light gravy that you sop up with the large chunks of hard bread, making the bread soft enough to eat, and tasting pretty good that way as well. The final chunk of bread you decide to finish by dipping it into your third beer, and by the time you finish that, you are pretty tipsy and quite full. The serving girl can tell you are slowing down and asks, “Do you need a room for the night?”

“Yes I do. The finest one available please.”

“Oh, well we do have a room with a private bath if you want, but it is 15 silver for the night.”

“Here you go. I'll take it.” You say smiling and tipsy and hand her the coins.

“Right away, I'll get the key.” She scampers away. Looking around grinning and drunk you notice a couple of people you didn't notice before, a tall man in heavy armor, and a very slender man with long pronounced ears you are pretty sure must be an elf, if all of the books you have read are right. She comes back and hands you a small metal key. “I can show you the way whenever you are ready. Plus if you need anything else just ask.” Saying that she gives you a moment to answer before turning to go back to her duties.
