'Shit!' You think to yourself. 'Where the hell is he taking me? I shouldn't go...but that would invite suspicion.' You realize now that this ruse wasn't going to be nearly as simple as Natali thought it would be. You steel yourself. 'Okay, I have to do this. But I have to think like Vincent.'

You stop in your tracks and slowly turn your head toward Louis. In a dead serious tone of voice you say, "Get your fucking hands off of me."

You see terror in Louis' eyes. The two goons step forward, wanting to separate the two of you but also standing ready for any orders you might give. You realize that this was your one great advantage. As long as you were giving the orders things would be a lot simpler.

Louis holds his hands up and steps back. "S-s-sorry boss. I won't ever do that again." You smooth out the sleeve he'd been holding. "It's just that...you really gotta come with us."

"Surely it can wait till after breakfast." You say.

"Listen boss." He lowers his tone so that only you can hear him. "We found out Soo-yin was in the city. We figured world renowned freelance assassin...open contract on our boss...no way that's a coincidence. She had to know something. It took some doing but we nabbed her, we're holding her right now. And..." he pauses a moment, "...she's got some story to tell. She says she wants to speak with you directly. I really think you should talk to her boss, find out what she knows."

You stand there, your mind racing. 'What does she know? Why does she want to talk to Vincent?' You knew you had better deal with this yourself. You marvel at your situation. Now there's an international assassin? This was like something out of a bad choose your own adventure story.

"Okay, Louis. I'd better talk with her." You nod.

You think it over a moment. Without Natali it would all be up to you and your bluffing skills. You were not a criminal or a violent man, you were definitely out of your element here. You were hoping for a day or two to settle in and learn some things before anything crazy happened. But you weren't going to get that luxury.
