Yes, but by a friend

You were frozen solid, fear filling your body. While you laid as still as you could, you felt Blue start to slowly move. She slowly reached down to her belt, and silently pulled her dagger from its sheath. Then, as if the motion of grabbing the dagger was enough to alert them, you felt the walls of the log crack inward, as your pursuer steps their foot down on your fragile hiding place. The cold air from the night quickly rushed in, adding to your paralysis, as the now crushed walling was ripped out by the large figure.

With a lunge, Blue stabbed at them with her dagger, at which the man recoiled in pain.

“Father?!”

You immediately recognized his voice, And instinctively called out for him.

“Alexis?!”

Quickly getting out of the destroyed log, you were able to properly see him.

He stood with his hand axe drawn, ready to swing, his other hand coated with blood. His opponent? Blue, as she held her bloody dagger out in front of her, her other hand firmly held onto her sheathed swords handle.

“Alexis, are you hurt?”

He asked, not putting down his weapon. By now, Blue seemed to recognize him from earlier, and soon lowered her weapon.

“I’m fine, really.”

After seeing Blue sheath their dagger, you father slowly approached you, keeping his weapon at the ready, pointed at Blue.

Using his bloodied free hand, he felt you over for injuries, discovering the bruises you sustained from being thrown around and the large gash on your cheek from Sylvia. He also noticed how your clothes were drenched in sweat, and the many cuts the tree branches had inflicted across your body as you ran.

“No you’re not, you’re all cut up and out of breath. How long have you been running? Who this with you?”

You tried to think of what to say, obviously telling him about Blue would be way too much to tell anyone right now, but lying to your father was almost impossible, so you decided with a half-truth.

“She’s the one who rescued me. I was kidnapped by some dark elves, and she freed me from their cages. I would still be captive without her.”

He stared at Blue, trying to size her up and understand her intentions.

“Who are you?”

He asked, now standing between you and Blue.

Blue opened her mouth in an attempt to respond, but before she could, you piped in.

“She can’t speak. But I assure you, right now I trust her with my life.”

“Well how couldn’t you, for all you know she saved your life. Come, we need to return home.”

He took your hand and started to lead you back home, but as Blue started to follow, he stopped and turned to her.

It was clear that Blue was just following you, she’s your pet, that’s what she’s been doing this whole time. But to your father, who just wanted you home safe, this was a threat to your safety. It didn’t matter if she freed you, she’s from the same group that kidnapped and tortured you, he felt that she was a threat.

You could agree with your father, then as you left, form a mental link with Blue to tell them to leave that body and come with you anyway, you father wouldn’t even notice.

But, it was clear these dark elves intended harm, and maybe her body would be the key to stopping them.

But, whatever you decided, you knew that you had to act soon.
