Why the hell not?

Hey, you came here to get drunk and if this guy wants to save you the cost of a beer, why not let him, right? "Sure, if you're offering," you say, trying to make your lack of interest in him clear. He heads over to the bar to fetch the drinks and returns a few moments later, placing one in front of you and sitting down. You grab the beer and take a big swig of it.

"So, what brings you here so early?"

"Got fired from my job. They said they didn't think I was capable of doing it any more."

"Shit, that sucks," the guy says. "Name's Mark, by the way.

"Chris," you reply.

"So, did something change? New boss or some shit?"

You open your mouth, then think better of trying to explain. It's too much to get into, and you don't really want to get into the whole 'my ex doused me with a pill that permanently stole my dick and balls' thing. "Just dumb politics," you say.

"Sure, gotcha." The two of you then lapse into silence and finish your drinks. Once both are empty, Mark looks at you. "Want another, babe?"

"Why are you, like, calling me babe?" you ask.

"Well, you are a total babe."

You giggle, then stop and shake your head. "I feel, like... a little funny?"

"Maybe the beer's getting to you. Wanna get out of here?" Mark asks.

"Uhh, sure?" you say. "Probably not a bad idea."

"Cool, lets go." He holds his hand out to you, and you take it, allowing him to lead you out of the bar and into his car.
