Weirdly successful

I laid my purchases out on the table before me, one wand, Beginner Magic Tricks book, and a pack of 'rigged' cards, apparently with minute differences on the back patterning to tell them apart without needing to look.

I decided to just get straight to it and paged right to the beginning of the book, it depicted a simple trick that required just the deck of cards, but recommended to use props if you have them.

I read the instructions carefully, I needed to pretend to be another person picking a card, I took the two of clubs, noted it and replaced that hand onto the deck.

The book showed an incredibly specific shuffling method that would ensure the card they picked ended up at the top of the deck. I tried to follow the instructions to the letter but by the third shuffle I'd thoroughly lost the desired card. I followed the rest of the instructions anyway until I had the deck in front of me.

The book was clear that the next part required some showmanship so I picked up the wand, and tapped the top of the deck in what I deemed an appropriately wizardly manner imagining picking the two of clubs.

I put the wand back, already retracing my moves and trying to figure out when I lost track of the card.

I lifted the top card.

Two of clubs.

"Huh, what are the odds."

I paused for a moment

"Well, one in 52 but who's counting."

I double checked the cards to make sure they weren't all the same, they weren't.

I shrugged, and got back to reshuffling the cards, buoyed by my bout of beginners luck.

I tried again, queen of clubs, the trick worked again.

Again, 8 of diamonds, it worked.

Shocked by my spree of luck, I quickly attempted it again, in my haste not touching the wand, I picked the ace of spades but drew the 5 of hearts.

I was actually glad that that failed, I'd been getting a touch weirded out so far.

I got back to practicing but time after time it worked.

Now thoroughly weirded out I started trying actively to fail, just randomly shuffling cards, irrespective of what the book said, guessing random cards, everything.

But, it worked almost every time.

It took some doing but I eventually narrowed it down to the culprit, the wand.

Anytime i tapped the wand on the top of the deck and pictured drawing the desired card, I'd do it.

"Holy shit"

I shifted a little, thankful that I'd been wearing a skirt as my penis tented, I had no clue why it was so insistent, I'd been focused 100% on the cards for the last hour.

I'd never believed in magic before, of any kind, but I had always wanted it to exist. So holding the real deal it was exciting.

I quickly fetched a notebook and started writing down my observations, and i began experimenting further.

I placed the deck on the table, and revealed the top card, queen of hearts. I replaced the card and without shuffling this time tapped the top and pictured the king of hearts. Unlike the previous times I actually felt something, a incredibly faint electrical feeling through my arm, not dissimilar to the feeling I had when I first touched the wand. I flipped the card over, king of hearts.

I noted it down, including my suspicion that doing it without shuffling took more 'energy' than the previous attempts, whatever well i was drawing from for this magic that is. For all I know there was no well and I just had a psychosomatic feeling since I knew what I was doing.

Next I performed the trick again but after imposing the card (what I'd taken to calling this 'spell' or whatever i was doing) I set the drawn card aside and looked through the deck to see if it was being replicated somehow or if it was swapping with the actual card on top. 51 cards in the remaining deck, plus the one to the side is the normal 52 so it must be somehow swapping the top card.

I recalled that these cards have differences in their patterns to tell them apart so I grabbed the little manual from the card box and looked for the signifiers. The next time i attempted it i noticed the small patterns changing instantly as i touched the card with the wand.

By now my penis had gone from curiously aroused to uncomfortably hard, apparently I found magic highly arousing, go figure.

I should probably take care of that so I can focus on actually doing magic here.
