What's in the box?
Two Small Stones
Unlatching the box, Eliza flipped the lid open. Sitting on a cushion were two small stones of two different sizes. The larger one reminded Eliza of a hockey puck, being very similar in size and shape. Upon closer inspection, she noticed an intricate design etched into the stone, the lines only being a barely darker shade of grey. She plucked it off the cushion it was sitting it, turning it over in her hands. The grey lines started to glow a dull purple after a few moments of holding it.
"That is an aura stone." Skye said, motioning at the stone. "I happened to have a blank one with me that I brought from the library. I figured since you are a newly transformed into a Mystic, we might as well get your aura signature on record."
"Is it mandatory? I don't know how much I like the idea of having something that can track my position at all times." Skye looked at Eliza, slightly perturbed by her ****.
"It's...not mandatory I suppose. Though it is the only way for you to return to Home Realm without hitching a ride with someone. It acts as an anchor point in Home Realm." Eliza stared at the stone, still not too keen of creating a tracker on herself.
"What if, I don't know, an enemy of mine comes here to steal the stone to find me?"
"Do you have enemies?"
"Well, no, but that's beside the point." Skye sighed lightly.
"You wouldn't have to worry about that. Without going into too much detail, only a select few people know the spell to use an aura stone's tracking ability. Even less know how to use it to **** a teleport. As head of the Aura Stone Library I of course know it. But even excluding me, there are only 3 other Mystics outside the 05 council with the knowledge of aura stone magicstics. Everyone that knows it has taken a Demon's oath to never disclose it to others without prior consent of the 05 council leaders. We must also get the approval from the lower council to be able to use the magic in the first place. Besides, the main use of the stones are more of a health gauge that we can use to find you if you're in trouble, Like we did for Katonia here." Eliza looked at Skye, slightly confused. She threw a lot of different terms at her, not everything she understands.
"Ok...I think I'm starting to understand. Demon's oath is pretty self explanatory. But who are these council people? Are they like the government here?" Skye hesitated before answering.
"There's much more to it than that, but as a loose allegory, yes. If we go with government example, the 05 are the presidents with a council under them that are the branches. At least if I'm remembering my human government correctly. They make the rules, make sure the rules are followed and do their best to keep all Mystics safe."
"You keep saying Mystics, are those just non-humans? Why not just call us demons?" Skye held back a giggle before she answered.
"I apologize, I didn't mean to laugh. I just forgot how in-the-dark humans are kept as far as Mystics go. The reason is not all Mystics are demons."
"Yeah, kinda slipped my mind to tell you sweetie." Kat chimed in. "While the vampires you asked about aren't real, there are other types. Of course you have your demons, succubi, imps, and balrogs. But you also have your mermaids, pixies, sprites, dryads, and a slew of other creatures. All of them are under the banner of Mystic." Eliza nodded her head in understanding. Skye cleared her throat, motioning to the aura stone in Eliza's hand.
"So, anyway, if you like I could go through the imprinting process for that aura stone." Skye said, obviously starting to become a little impatient. Eliza took one more look at the aura stone in her hand.
"Fine, let's do it." Eliza said, still having her qualms with it. Nevertheless it's important and it seems pretty hard to **** so that helps put her at ease.
"Perfect. Hand the stone to me and I'll get started." Doing as instructed, Eliza handed off the stone. Skye began to mumble something under her breath. After a couple of seconds the dull purple glow of the lines transformed into a bright golden color. Skye extended her hand, pressing the stone into her upper chest. Eliza yelps quietly as the frigid stone was placed against her exposed skin. Then without warning she slid the stone downward, stretching her shirt down until her hand was in between her breasts. Eliza blushed slightly as the woman she's only just met had her hand in between her tits, but Eliza put it aside and let her continue. The coldness of the stone seemed to irradiate outward from her chest, sending a chill down her spine as she felt her aura seep into the stone. She then retreated her hand, the stone's runes now shining a bright purplish color.
"And we're done. To finish the process, I would like to ask a few questions." The questions were simple, mostly information gathering. Her name, age, height, etc. Once done Skye stood up from her seat, giving her arms a slight stretch. "Alright, I'll go ahead and enter your information into the Aura Stone Library, so don't worry about that. I think you two girls should go the council building and report in. I'm sure they'll want to know all about what has happened and to register you Eliza. Now I must go, I'm a busy woman after all." Just as Skye was about to leave, Eliza stopped her.
"Um, what about the other rock in here." Eliza asked, holding up the smaller rock. It was puck shaped like the aura stone, but was a much smaller size, being barely bigger than a gold dollar. On each of it's faces it had a rune carved in, looking similar to the swirl of the teleportation circle that brought them here.
"I'll let Katonia fill you in, as I said I really must be going. It was very nice to meet you both. And Eliza, I hope your transition to a Mystic is a smooth one. Have a nice day." And with those words, Skye left through a set of double doors. Kat reached over and plucked the stone out of Eliza's hand, examining it for a moment.
"Wait, you gotta be kidding me. This is a recall stone."
"A recall stone?"
"Yeah. Basically, stored inside the stone is a magic spell. When you break the stone, you'll be teleported to Home Realm, similar to how we got here. These are really rare, I'm surprised she just handed one out to you." Kat looked the stone over one last time before handing it back to Eliza. She scanned the stone once more in her hand, then stowed it away in her purse.
"She must have liked us." Kat didn't look convinced though, staring off in the distance lost in thought. After a few moments she snapped back to reality.
"I guess. Anyway, we probably should do as she said and report to the council. I don't want to deal with all this again, and besides, registering you will also save us a headache." Kat's tail uncurled from Eliza's waist as she stood up, slightly grunting as she did so. Eliza followed suit, her mind drifting over everything she had just learned today. It was quite a lot to take in, and there were so many things she still didn't fully understand. The culture shock of it all was almost enough to make her head spin. She found herself following Kat mindlessly as she opened a set of double doors that lead to the outside.
What does the outside look like?
