Troublemaker

As soon as he felt his phone vibrate, Spencer pulled it out. To his disappointment, it wasn't Evelyn who was calling.

"Hello?"

"Ah, hello. It's Principal Mary Winters of Carter Juinor High. Is this Mr. Askren?"

"Yes. How can I help you?"

"I need you to come down to my office. There's been an incident with Amy today."

"Wait, what happened?"

"She was watching videos in the computer lab."

"Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes."

As he headed for the door, he sent a text to Evelyn.

'wont be avalible today ;)'

Inside her house, Evelyn pulled out her phone, seeing Spencer's text. After tossing away her phone onto her bed, she opened the drawer that contained her vibrator. As she grabbed the toy, she sighed "Long time no see old friend."

Spencer headed to Carter JHS, unsure what Amy had gotten involved with. Normally Amy was a model student, who never got into any sort of trouble. Inside the hallway, Spencer saw Amy waiting by the Principal's office.

"Hey Dad." She sighed.

"You alright?"

"Yeah. I'm fine."

"Sure." Spencer then entered Principal Winters' office, finding her sitting at her desk.

"Please, take a seat Mr. Askren." She said.

Once he sat down, Spencer said "So what's going on?"

"Well, earlier today Amy was in the computer lab and rather than doing her work, she was looking up videos on Youtube that were uhh... quite troubling."

"Uh, what were they?"

"Well, they were body cam footage of police incidents."

"Like shootings?"

"My understanding is that it was of an encounter with a drunk man, but to be frank it wasn't appropriate."

"Right. So she was doing this during a lesson?"

"Uhh yep. She did also talk back a bit when asked to get back to her school work. I mean she's normally a great student, and I don't want to pry too much, but I know there have been some changes..."

"Evelyn." Spencer interjected.

"Well yeah. I don't wish to pry but I just what to make sure everything's okay."

"It's fine. In fact, she's taking it much better than I expected to be honest."

"That's good to hear. I just want to make sure everything is okay."

Spencer nodded. "Sure. So is she suspended?"

"No but we'll be sending her home for today."

"No problem. Is that it?"

"I think so. Thanks for coming by Mr. Askren."

"No problem."

Spencer left the office and looked to his daughter.

"Alright, let's go."

"Sorry Dad."

"It's okay. We'll talk about it at home."

"Okay then."

As the two headed to his car, Spencer began to wonder if Amy was taking his new relationship as well as he had assumed. He knew all too well how easy it can be to bury one's feelings deep down inside.
