Training, training and more training

Ever since Mia left for the capital, I took my training a lot more serious. Even more serious then when I was training with Amelia. After all, when the time comes for me to get my ranking, I want my girlfriend to be proud of me. The best way to get my adventurer girl to be proud of me is to get the highest rank I possibly can. I’m not aiming for anything impossible like S. But if I can get at least B like my mom, I’m sure Mia will be amazed.

Jogging around the village a few times every morning in full adventuring gear becomes a daily routine. Same for the squats and the sit ups. Then in the afternoon I go adventuring with Jax. Since there were no other students to join, Jax has asked both Alice and mother to join us. Otherwise our group would have been too small to make any significant progress.

I learn much in those days. We venture much deeper into the forest than I ever have before and we face monsters I have only ever read about in books. It is hard though. Both physically and emotionally.

My mother already has a difficult life making sure I’ve good a roof over my head and food on the table. But when I see her in combat, she makes me think of an overpowered Mia. Then I wish Mia was here.

I often get to see mom and Alice work together. It is amazing. Mom can have an idea on how to deal with a monster and go for it without telling anyone. Jax and I then wonder what she might be planning, but Alice already knows. The two of them can read each other so well. I guess that’s because they used to adventure together all the time. It makes me wonder how much of a **** they would be if their third friend, Helena, was also here. It also makes me wonder if Mia and I will ever have such teamwork as they do.

Alice helps me learn how it is to fight with an offensive mage behind me. Quite different from Amelia, who always worked as a supportive mage. But both of them are mages, and I need to learn to adventure with both types. It’s just that Alice makes me think of Amelia so much. And when I think of Amelia, I think of … things that once were, things that could have been, and things that should never have happened.

There were days where mom and Alice can’t make it. Then, instead of adventuring, Jax has me do some extra physical training. Jax did all the exercises with me and he was much older than me. If I couldn’t keep up with him, how would I ever become a high-ranking adventurer. Yes, as a C rank he has a strength boost over me. But still. If I can beat a C rank in endurance, I am sure to at least get a C rank myself, right?

At night, when I lay in bed and I am not too exhausted, I usually end up thinking of Mia. I relive those moments we’ve spend together. The one in the cave, the one in the mossy clearing, that time in her room, and also that time in her parent’s stables. Those are the times I masturbate while thinking of her. Gods, I miss her so much.

It wasn’t all great though. At some point, great news reached our village. It turns out that during his ranking ceremony, Kase received an S rank. Really? That bastard? S ranked? By the gods! Mr. Enzo was very happy with the news and, with him being Kase father, I can’t blame him. Any father would be proud of his son when he receives an S rank. But the villagers, the ones who turned their backs on Kase because he nearly choked me, they all switched their opinions on Kase and praised him as if he had always been a model citizen. Frankly, it disgusted me how people could so quickly change their mind. It also meant, that if I were to meet Kase in the capital, he would have a huge strength boost over me. If I were to get just a B rank, I doubt I would be a match for him. If I am to keep myself safe from him, and keep Mia protected, I may need to try my best and get an A rank instead. It is a high bar I need to pass. At times, I feel if maybe I am trying to do the impossible. Then I just feel like giving up.

Fortunately, after about a month, I receive a couple of letters. I’m expecting one of them to be from Mia. But what about the other two?
