Where do you go?
To the Temple
You make your way to the village temple. After all, this is the entire reason your got awoke, got dressed, and left home in the dead of night.
The path to the village temple is on the best made and maintained road in the village. Stone lanterns line the roadside at fixed intervals, their insides lit and shining softly, creating what could be a romantic atmosphere if there was anyone else to appreciate it.
As you near the temple, you appreciate it's unmatched architectural beauty. A large, wooden structure, painted red and black and decorated with gold ornaments, the temple is the pride of the village and the centerpiece of the local religion. While the church is used for day-to-day activities, the temple is reserved for special occasions throughout the year. The temple is maintained by its few inhabitants, the shrine maidens, and is led by the head of the village religion, the shrine mahatma.
Finally, you stand in front of the large, ornate double doors of the temple. Beyond these doors lies the temple interior, and the ceremony that will make you man in the eyes of the village.
You feel a cool, comforting breeze, relaxing you, before you finally resolve yourself for what is next.
