Lustmoon Chronicles
A Hero's Cumming of Age Story
Chapter 1 by hiddenpin123
A quiet village lies nestled in the valley between the Blackrock Ridge and Stormshire Mountains. The rugged landscape surrounding the valley limits travel into and outside of the village, but every so often, some brave villagers will leave to conduct trade with faraway kingdoms. Inside the valley however, the peaceful locals are supported by the abundant bounty of nature and agriculture. Terraced fields line the sides of the eastern mountains, supported by irrigation from the clear river flowing from the mountains’ peak. In this isolated world, the aspirations of the populous are limited to being a good farmer, a good hunter, or a good craftsman. A select few are chosen to learn the way of the cloth, with boys eventually becoming priests to lead common religious activities, and the girls having the priviledge of becoming esteemed shrine maidens, responsible for the most important religious ceremonies and temple rites.
This is where you call home. And yet, that will soon change…
You wake up after a mid-afternoon nap, and are feeling a bit drowsy. Looking around, you see the clean reflected light of the full moon spilling into your bedroom from the windows.
Tonight, you are supposed to take part in an important ceremony at the village temple. In accordance with the ancient customs, every young person completes a coming-of-age ceremony at the temple.
You feel overwhelmingly thirsty. You were napping so long that you're probably dehydrated now, which isn't helping your drowsiness. You escape the comfortable clutches of your bed and realize, you're naked. Looks like you have some things to sort out before leaving for the temple.
What should you do?
