Chapter 9 by sugarfree sugarfree

Not a bad start. Not long left to prepare.

Time to get up. You have a dungeon to build.

You wake up sore, and sticky, and hungry, and feeling like something has been taken from your memory, like you should remember your dream but it is behind a wall, in any case that is something to think about later since while your host is well fed, you haven't eaten yet. You get up, carful not to wake Stiasha, you aren't sure what exactly happened last night, and you are not looking forward to explaining it. Grabbing Kluzz's head you walk over to the spring to get yourself cleaned up, and have some breakfast. You use your goblin knife, now a bit small for you, to go about retrieving the brain and consume it, feeling satiated, and a new ability waking up inside you.

Rage-anger boils over into rage, strengthening all physical attacks, and reducing all non magical physical damage by half

With breakfast done you slide into the water and wash last night off of yourself. Relaxing under the cold water you decide to check over your new stat sheet.

Looking over your new sheet you see what happened last night, and realize you have no way to avoid it happening again. Well, depending on how angry Stiasha is when she wakes up that is, you wouldn't mind a repeat if you both can keep control. With that short mystery uncovered you decide to get preparations started on building your dungeon, you wont be doing the work obviously, but you can have everything selected for when the goblins and resources get here.

Kullel's Lair(Large Cave)

Storage Room-2 slots, Safe storage area for perishables and non perishables
Add Room-Expand the dungeons building slots
Create Outer Perimeter-Create an outer perimeter that can be expanded to allow more building and defensive options

There are more options, but they have other requirements to even begin building, so they aren't worth looking at right now. You also want to see how your new introduction goes before starting a Spawning Pit, so you select the Barracks, Crafting Room, Training Arena, Storage Room, and you decide to add two new rooms for now. The perimeter is a question though. On one hand, strong walls will keep adventurers and other monsters out, but it advertises something good hiding behind them, and anything getting past them probably won't be easily stopped. On the other, hiding the entrance to the cave is great, until someone finds it, then it isn't a defense at all. With determination you decide to create the outer perimeter, you will need the extra space and if you can get a wall up before adventurers come it will give you more time to gather strength and prepare.

With those decisions made you sense Stiasha now awake and wondering where you are, so far she seems too groggy to have violent intent, so you get out of the water to join her.

"Good morning Stiasha."

Groaning and barely coherent Stiasha looks up, "Good morning? I'm having a great morning. I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to keep you to myself if you lose control like that again."

"You remember what happened last night?"

"Yes, and while your emotions were **** on me I could sense the reason why, and don't worry, I won't blame you for something neither of us could have predicted, or control. Right now though, I am having a bit of trouble feeling my legs, could you carry me to the water?"

"Of course, how could I refuse with you being so reasonable."

As you lift her up, which is fairly easy with the size difference, she grabs on to your ear to pull herself towards you for a tender kiss. "Next time though, give a girl a warning to prepare."

"Fair enough."

Before you step in to the water she stops you and casts Blessed Flame on the pool, giving it a welcoming glow, and bringing it to a gentle boil. "Nothing like a warm bath in the morning, Kullel." Stepping into the water for the second time this morning you realize that you should have just waited for her to get up, the warm water was lovely, and the divine nature of the spell gave it minor healing properties. The aches and pains of yesterdays fighting, and the more strenuous activities that followed washing away just as you help Stiasha wash the night away.

Curse eased (satisfied 32 hrs)

Unexpected, but very welcome. Having that curse activate when the goblins got here would have been a problem.

"Ok, Stiasha how do we explain the sudden change in leadership? I've been planning a few other things this morning, you know the tribe better, and it will be a few more levels before I can mass charm. I am limited to one creature at a time for the moment."

"How exactly does that work? Have you been charming me this whole time?"

"Well, for one you wouldn't worry about asking that question if I were, and I wouldn't worry about asking you questions either. I would tell you what I wanted or think it and you would assume it was your new passion to carry that task out. The only drawback is I need to concentrate on the creature or its thoughts start to fight back. I've heard that my kind can gain permanent control, but I've also never gotten to that high of a level myself to verify."

"Ok, as for the tribe, we were attacked and a friendly orc came out of nowhere and saved me. We goblins aren't exactly a proud race, and knowing you were stronger than whatever killed you should be enough for them."

"I appreciate the help, but that sounds entirely too easy."

"And yet it will work. Though I am going to recommend you reward, but separate, the two who helped you kill Kluzz. If they talk too much their heads mite knock together enough to complete the thought that our story is off, the other goblins won't care."

"I had planned to do that anyway. Red and Blue both know how to fight, and how to get other goblins fighting. I figure Red will be good leading the guards of the cave, and we can put Blue in charge of scouting. I got the sense he prefers being alone."

"Red and Blue?"

"They don't have names and I wanted to keep them straight in my head. The only difference between the two are their clothes."

"You know they share their clothes right?"

"That wasn't important to remember at the time, but I guess we can get some better names for them when they get here."

You sit there quietly for a few minutes helping Stiasha wash the last of the grime away. With that finished you both decide to settle into the warm water and wait for the goblins to get to the cave. That is until Stiasha's stomach starts to growl.

"Anything to fix that big guy?"

Hopping out of the spring you get dressed and spend a few minutes charming fish and cooking them on a skewer for her. Then with little to do until the tribe gets here you decide to relax around the fire, and Stiasha has no arguments while she eats the fish.
