Time for Trick or Treat
You plop back down on the couch and press play on your remote. Jamie Lee Curtis runs away from Michael Meyers on screen.
It's been a quiet night, or at least, quiet for your tastes. Trick or Treaters come to your door, asking for candy with open bags. Nothing out of the ordinary. Which is fine. But you can't help but feel there's something missing from the night's festivities. Your previous Halloweens have been raucous, often debaucherously torrid affairs.
You suppose this is fine too, though. You do enjoy putting a smile on the faces of kids and parents simply by plying them with candy.
Still, there's a gnawing sense of wanting something more than this hum-drum Halloween, and it's as you think about this that the doorbell rings.
