They wait until it opens

After some thought Kirie tells her troops to set up a defense. They are going to wait until the gate opens.

“Are you sure it’s even going to do that?” Frost asks.

“There were bringing Gabriella and Samantha this way.” Kirie says. “How would they have gotten them into the tower if this gate never opens?”

And so, Kirie’s roses start finding a defensible position. Which is really very hard. This tunnel made of flesh is empty of rubble to be used as cover. At best, there is a bulge in the structure’s growth here or there. Once they are in position all they can do is wait.

About thirty minutes later, their patience pays off. The mouth starts opening, causing the teeth to spread out. The Roses aim their guns and prepare for combat.
